Actually "Drive and Park Carefully"... . Anyway, the "TRIP" button is to change the display instrument on the odometer i.e. you press the TRIP button and look at the display on your odometer..it will give you distance to empty, TRIP A, TRIP B etc when you press and continously press the "TRIP" button....hope my explanation helps...

BTW..anyone can recommend a good mechanic shop or SC to do the alignment and wheel balancing?

Finally my alignment problem has been solved at the outside tyre shop. Dealer SC at Alor Setar also cannot solve it (alignment problem) when i send my car for the first service last monday, though i gave a credit to them becoz they solved the driver's seat ratlling sound. Ended up by sending the car to my hometown's trusted alignment 'guru'.

Here's the story :
Before he did the alignment, he test the current alignment first by driving my car for a short distance. Then he did the alignment..& test it again. He said that the alignment problem still exist. After that, he inspected both front rims & tyres, he suspect that the culprit is the tyre itself & he said that one of the front tyre installed 'inside out' (got other bro here said the same thing before). So he took out the left front tyre from the rim & installed it back the other way round..& the result is a perfect alignment. No camber nut used. That's what i called a guru's way to troubleshoot & solve the alignment problem The damage? only RM29.00

Went to Toyota showroom yest to look at the facelift Vios ...

As expected, the sales manager bashed Forte a lot - mainly on 2nd hand value and durablility after 5 yrs ... - many problems konon ..

Den he compared with Spectra 2nd value after 6 yrs only 11k .

Sigh ......

i tested the forte 1.6SX today and felt it was underpower as one of the forumers said. As expected if a civic were to have a 1.6 it would have felt the same. After that i tried the vios and the city and it was kinda clear that the forte was better aside from it being underpower.

So now im thinking of maybe just getting the 2.0 ? Anyone have any comments or feedback on the 2.0 or its not out yet ? FC ?

Also did anyone add leather seat to their 1.6? How much did it cost ?

forte never & ever can be compared to those two car....forte will win...Period

update after 1st day of use.......

still no added sounds.....thank god.........

alignment i think is still slightly off to the left, but very minimal, so i will accept that......

i now know why some people complain a temporary loss of power before taking off when accelerating out of a corner at mid speed (ie about 40kph).......the ecu is programmed to shift up to higher gears early.......in normal city traffic driving with a light foot, gear shifts occurs early, at 1600-1800rpm........it's pretty low torque at that range......so if you attempt to accelerate strongly out of the corner, it takes a while for the auto tranny to shift down a gear to find enough torque.........you will definitely not get enough power at 1600rpm in 4th gear .......

this is fine for me, normal driving for me, it accelerates slowly and steadily our of a turn without fuss of need to downshift........and the low rpm will translate to lower fc........

i think the reason why the ecu is programmed that way is, it's tuned for leisurely drive, with the assumption that if one needs power, one will use the shifttronic..........

note this if for 2.0..........the 1.6 will have a different ecu programming, as there is less power available across the range of rpm.........

back to the mud flap. the front ones got 2 holes only. the back ones got 3. 2 for the sides, 1 for the bottom screw. photos coming up later, cause i'm not having the data cable with me. i guess the mud flaps can fit the car... just need to find some time to do it. today raining. lagi potong. the whole area is so dirt dirty. just washed car 2 days ago
