Hi all, my pc suddenly has trouble detecting my 5800xm. Phone shows system error. When I check my applications, most of my application stuffs are gone. Every time I on my phone, it will show system error on the welcome screen.

What is happening? Is it the memory corrupted? I don't have my nokia pc suite installed in my pc since I formatted it. How can I backup my phone stuff, i.e. msgs, photos..

There might be some people who have asked the same question, but I'm still quite blur about it.

Appreciate advices from the experts here.

I had this "system error" after I edited my phone font. After few restart and remove battery, now it's ok already.

As for the backup, I think can do backup through the phone. If not, the only way is via Pc Suite and Ovi Suite.

Oh ya, don't forget to open killme and add important processes to protected.

To change theme effect, search for c2z maker, make your own c2z patch for rompatcher. every phone different c2z file.
put c2z patch in E:\patches, then turn on C2z.
Then download the theme effect u wan, put the effects files (those kml files etc) in C:\resource\effects.

turn off and turn on theme effects and you're done. But c2z got some prob with some phone settings, so u can cache the theme effects 1st and off C2z.

How to cache? just try all the effects like opening messages, exiting apps, entering menu... opening gallery... media bar... do until everything you've tried, then off c2z. the effect will still be there but will be gone when u off the phone. u can also leave c2z open, but some phone settings u can't open.

I tried update my firmware via FOTA, however it says, no updates available. >.< I know my firmware is not the up-to-date one.

What should I do then?

Edit: I restarted many times and took off the batt as well. I still want to backup my sms and contacts.

Ori one. That time bought ori cos afraid there would be trouble with AP set.

well, no choice but to use NSU, even if u change product code still u need to use NSU, else it will say update package not compatible.

How about try my method of removing battery 1st?

According to what I googled, the "system error" happens due to some of the software installed have start-up failure. Did you install anything before this?

I search about this NSU in the forum (error occured when I wanna watch the youtube instructions). I am still a bit blur. It requires me to connect to the pc right? Do I need to have Nokia PC Suit? Even now when I connect my phone to pc, it cannot detect any hardware / removable disk (memory card).

Using NSU means, I need to backup my stuff right? I wanna save my data before I risk losing them...

I removed the battery a couple of times. Still it doesn't work.

Last I recalled I installed Opera browser. Hmmm...

Yea. Try that also. Remove > start. Then try restart it.

Does hacking actually void the warranty or to a certain extent?

will reverting to factory setting erase any sign of modding in the phone?

how about phones with only internal memory like the X6?

I'm not sure will this work. read from other forum about corrupted files. Remove memory card and put into card reader. Thn open sys folder > bin > then delete cardrunner.dll

I believe flash back to original firmware is better than hard reset IF you want more cautious.
