i dun think so see this line from o2

iPhone Pay & Go customers

Yes, you can unlock your iPhone for a one-off cost of £15. You'll pay for this from the money topped-up on your phone.

But if you unlock your iPhone less than 12 months after you bought it, we'll take off the free Web & Wi-Fi Bolt On (that we added for the first 12 months). You can buy a Web & Wi-Fi Bolt On for £10 a month when you fill in the unlocking form. Find out more about the Web & Wi-Fi Bolt On here.

hi guys..i got Qs lah..
my brother is going to UK around 28june..
assuming iphone 4g is already released there im thinking of buying two but to use in malaysia..
as known usually UK version is locked..

1. so is it wise to just buy it there and unlock it when the unlock service for 4g is availabe in malaysia

2.some say if u but it in UK it will be cheaper..is that really true???

my aim is to get it cheap..so if i buy it from UK..will i able to change it to suite malaysia network sooner or later??

if you buy from o2 then u just need to fill in the unlock form and top up your o2 prepaid of 15 pounds then wait for the unlock code

i think someone must post this stuff so that this question shall not be asked again
