Lily pipe... it creates a vortex in the surface of the water sucking all the oil and stuff floating on the surface into the body of the water which will allow your filter to filter it out...

Heres the link, check it out...

usually glassware oni the lilly pipe , inlet pipe , outlet pipe, drop checker, thermometer, bubble counter and etc

skimmer is to clean the layer of oil on the surface of ur tank.. but with a lilly pipe.. the design so magic it works as a surface skimmer..

this is how it works
user posted image

u see the like tornado from surface to the lillypipe.. it sucks all the oil down so ur surface cleaner!

ADA lilly pipe cost up to rm500! delicious i tell you! but china brand u can get at about rm80 - 120 if not mistaken.

much love!

brows.gif ... I'm very free cause now on holiday back home in Klang... But left my tank back in Kuala terengganu... cry.gif
Got the eheim 2213 but can't hook it up cause my tank all the way in KT... cry.gif

@Michanz, how come your lily pipe picture so clear and close up one??? shocking.gif Got date some more??? The lily pipe from your tank is it??? brows.gif

Since we're on the topic of Co2, I got some questions icon_question.gif

1) We only require a manual regulator to operate a co2 tank is it?

2) How come the regulator in the picture got no gauge one? Do we need both high pressure and low pressure gauge?

3) Do some regulator come with needle valve?

I'm very confused about the regulator... I know about the bubble counter, the check valve, the co2 reactor, co2 diffuser but the manual regulator puzzles me... rclxub.gif

Adequate or not depends on your scape, thats what I found out after researched all the 2213 and 2215 users opinion, the filtration material that comes with the 2213 is only 5 blue coarse sponge, 1 fine wool sponge, 1 carbon sponge and thats all. You need to get your own biological filtration media like eheim substrate pro or ADA bio rio, depends on your preference

Inline diffuser don't create turbulent flow, its just a co2 diffuser build into the outlet tube of your canister filter
Lily pipe also don't create any turbulent flow, the vortex created doesn't actually agitate the water surface also

So I think since there is no turbulent flow, there should be no surface agitation and no co2 loss. Its just what I think la. Maybe those out there with a lily pipe and inline diffuser can give a more better answer... I'm just guessing... tongue.gif blush.gif

MUst be a pain to get stuff in KT right?hahah no lah i google the picture lah.. i not rich enuff to get even china lily pipe!

1) yes.. manual regulator is the most basic regulator..

manual regulator is like a faucet..
user posted image
u open the top keluar water.. u close, off the water.. u buka sikit.. air keluar sikit.. u buka banyak air keluar banyak..
user posted image
this is the most basic regulator. same like pili air..so manual regulator is like that.. u buka sikit co2 keluar sikit.. u buka banyak co2 keluar banyak!

2) gauge is just to show the co2 pressure in the tank.. thats all.. noneed high pressure low pressure what sh!t.. all accesories oni!

3) needle valve not neccesary.. is there just to make life more simpler.. thats also why there is an automatic regulator or solenoid.. its just high tech clever gizmos to make ur life easier - ON the switch, got co2 comeout, Off the switch co2 no more come out! so u can set at first how much co2 u wana put in.. then on off onia! noneed to like using manual regulator fto adjust the knob to that amount of co2 u want every morning..
