did u get 188.55 in your device manager too?

i was already running on 197.16 when nvidia officially launched it. u can only install the damn driver if u switch to discrete graphics only in the bios. i tried ur way coz i still want to use the IGP to conserve battery. i was uninstalling / reinstalling / rebooting for over an hour coz i keep seeing 188.55 in the device manager.

what do u mean by pop-ups? physically or on-screen?

do not believe your online order status. not very accurate. mine was stuck at "order received" for a week. just give it at least 2-3 weeks from order date. this is not an ordinary Dell lappie which normally arrives in a blink of an eye.

new Nvidia beta drivers for M11x. get them from Dell site now.

version is 197.12. remember, it's beta.

beta drivers have downgraded Intel drivers as discussed in NBR forums. version 197.12 drivers are no different from the 197.16 custom drivers i've installed. so sticking to custom drivers until dell's drivers come out from beta.

how's the fps? i hooked up my M11X to my Panny 50" Plasma and ran MW2. besides the occasional stutter, an exceptional experience with my HT system. getting at least 30-40fps. Another game that should be played on the big screen is Bioshock 2.

yeah...game booster helps a lot. nice piece of freeware. my bitdefender has "gaming mode" too...but it's still best to turn it off. i do not normally game on my Panny with my M11X. i have the PS3 for that. i just wanted to prove to my friend who is laughing away that no one could possibly game on such a small screen. (however, no sane person would browse the internet or even the windows desktop at 1080p on a 50' screen. the words and icons are so damn small).

now i make full use of my M11x as a HTPC to stream HD movies to my small 32" bedroom TV from my server in another room. and since it's also used as an office lappie, it turns heads whenever i make a powerpoint presentation with it.

i'm using the Zalman NC1000 cooler (should be almost the same as NC2000) for my M11x. provides good cooling but not very portable.

i think i'm experiencing some problems with my keyboard. the lights on the left hand side (Esc, tab, caps shift and l-ctrl keys) are showing slightly different colours. when i choose white backlight, those keys will show a light orange colour. most obvious would be the ESC and ~ keys.

my m11x keyboard's backlighting is a little off-colour on the left side. this is especially evident when the backlight is white. the esc, ~, tab, caps, left-shift and left-ctrl keys are all slightly orange. will dell change it for me if i call them?

i understand if white backlighting doesn't look totally white, but this problem is only affecting the keys on the left of the keyboard. when i first got the M11x, this problem was not visible.

based on the previous comments, so it's not advisable to update to bios A03 for the m11x?

but based on the release notes, it does fix quite a few problems/bugs

ok then, sticking with A01 for now.

anyone tried the new nvidia drivers 257.15. will try to make new hybrid drivers once i've finished downloading it.
