i wonder why they call it "ikan mackerel" the Malay term for Mackerel is Tenggiri.

not sure about tongkol but i'm have checked out to see many people referencing Mackerel to Tenggiri.

besides that, you can check out the images using Google images on both terms.

the similar fish shape will come out.

you can to pasar malam, drop by the people who are selling fish.

many of them carry Tenggiri in an un-cut state. looks like those in images.
