i've enrolled myself to Taylor's college for a course and have obtained 30% fee waiver throughout the whole 3 years course.however, i have switched to another course (which is quite similar to the previous course i've chosen & the fees are also of the same amount).Unfortunately,i've been told by the student services department that i will have to write in to retain my scholarship (not 100% guarantied) or they will be taking back my scholarship. Now, i will have to write a letter to convince them to retain my scholarship as i really need this scholarship. Can anyone here help me out with the format & etc (have to sound convincing).
Thank you in advance smile.gif

Okey, Let me get this thread started. I really have this question buzzing in my head for 4 months. I just went for JPA interview for medicine. I heard that JPA scholars will be bonded with government for 10 years. Can i do my specialization during the 10 years? Because i can't stay as an MO for 10 years. If i have to wait 10 years then do my specialization, i will only be a specialist at the age of 45. Then, when can i do mt sub-specialty? sad.gif My aim is to become a specialist at the age of 35. Please anyone answer my questin. Can i do my speciality during my 10 years bnd with JPA? icon_question.gif

Well, bonding for government for 10 years if for u to like fulfill your part of the bargain. Yes, I think u can do ur specialization during those 10 years, however understand that you need to do at least 2 years housemanship and 3 years MO before you even think of specializing. And specializing will take between 2-4 years. However if you make it to become a doctor, you might wanna take some time to look at your options. Don't specialize simply because you want to become a specialist, specialize in the area you like. I know a doctor friend, when she came out she ended up in the optometry department for her housemanship, she immediately fell in love with it and now is an optometrist surgeon. So i suggest to take ur time, no need to rush. There's a long road ahead of u..

Hi, I'm actually waiting for local uni application result. but i also applied for the star edu fund as a back up in case i didnt get into local uni, then if my scholarship application is accepted, and if i start studying for like 1 or 2 month first while waiting for uni application result to be out.

Okay, so when uni result is out, i decide to go local uni and would like to stop studying in the college. do i need to pay back the money for the course/month i've studied there..?

anyone experience this before?

Actuarial Science Scholarship - University of Southampton, UK.

Hi all, I am UK education advisor, and recently I have about 5 students who successfully gain a place to enrol to University of Southampton for their BSc (Hons) Actuarial Science, and all of them are offered for scholarship from 3k-5k pounds per year. It significantly reduced the tuition fee for the course to 4660pounds - 6600pounds per year (9660pounds per year without scholarship). Those 5 students have the academic background of ADP/SAM/STPM. Therefore, it means not necessary only available to ALevel Student.

Comes to University of Southampton, it ranked 12 on Sunday Times 2009 this year, and 16 on the Best Times 2009 University ranking. It is also top 100 best world University under some world university rankings. Teaching quality and the academic achievement of the university is GOOD and EXCELLENT!

Actuarial Science BSc is accrediated programme under the Institute of Actuary (IA) and upon the completion of the BSc (Hons) AS, student will be able to claim 8 papers exemption from the IA.

Please those who interested to study in overseas for AS programme, please do not hesitate to contact me as we have very good experience in getting scholarship for our capable students. The date line for UCAS application is 30 June 2009, therefore please be hurry! You can pm me the queries, or you can also reply to this post for informations

yeah you can. i did get scholarship for my first degree when i was in the 2nd year. i think most of the big companies offer scholarships for those who hv already enrolled for first degree. even the freak JPA did consider results from student who started on the short sem with only 2 subjects n managed to get flat A for both. sweat.gif

Does Astro state that you need to gain the admisssion to the university before you apply? That was the case for MAXIS. By the way, SPM students can apply for US schools without much hassle. I am not sure if Australia accepts SPM, most probably they don't.
