erm guys, i would like to apply for the astro scholarship but it states there that all courses being offered are bachelor programmes...

does this mean i have to take a pre-U course before i am eligible to apply for the scholarship? I just finished my SPM last year.

THanks people!
*
Does Astro state that you need to gain the admisssion to the university before you apply? That was the case for MAXIS. By the way, SPM students can apply for US schools without much hassle. I am not sure if Australia accepts SPM, most probably they don't.

For applying, just go to their website and lodge online applications. What do you mean by a placement? Please take note that if you want to go to US for undergraduate study, you have to sit for SAT/ACT and TOEFL. MACEE can help you, check them out.

Hi guys,

I'm a medical student in Monash, finishing my second year this year. I've been doing quite ok in my exams and all, and I hope that I can get a scholarship to fund my studies (3 years left in my course).

I've tried looking it online but couldn't get much info.. Can you guys help me with it? smile.gif
Doesn't matter if the scholarship is not open for application yet, I can apply next year or sth xD

I'm currently eyeing on Sime Darby's, but seems like it's not open for application yet.. although i saw a post in one of the scholarship sites dated August this year, 'inviting' ppl to apply =X
Thanks in advance! =D
*
For your information, the application for Sime Darby has closed more than 1 month ago. You have to wait for the March intake.

You can apply for JPA overseas loan provided that you have studied in foreign university for at least a year. I have forgotten the requirement of the result though. Other than this, you can checkout the banks.

The application for JPA PIDN is only open once a year and usually in June. Last year it was end of June. U might want to monitor the updates at Esila (JPA site for trainings & scholarships/loans) and JPA Main Page because u wouldn't want to miss the chance.
How to apply? Just go to the links I provided and u can apply online when the application is open.
Three main requirements for 2nd year students and above:
1) Malaysian
2) Not more than 25 y/o
3) Pass (Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy & Vet) ,
Other courses minimum standing of 3.5 CGPA.
Keep updated with Esila and Wish u luck.  smile.gif

Erm I'm not very sure bout what u meant by "walk-in" application. Anyways, I was referring to the old PIDN scheme (not for SPM leavers) for those who are already or who are enrolling for degree programmes in public unis and some specific private unis (MMU,UNITEN,) by using results from matric/STPM/foundation/degree's 1st sem. I almost never heard of "walk-in" application by the way. Only for some rare cases. Maybe someone else could help shed some light on that.  smile.gif

I was referring to the JPA scholarship which is kind of secret and they didn't announce it on the internet. That's what I heard from my friend that he applied by going to the JPA building himself for the overseas scholarship for university.

Yeah but the unis in the Ivy League is quite well ranked. That's why I said "Ivy League Level University". It can also cover the top unis like in QS world rankings in the US which are not Ivy League or Universities like Oxford and Cambridge in the UK and also Unis like ANU,Melbourne Uni and University of Sydney in Aussie.

Would you mind to elaborate the process to apply for this scholarship?

QUOTE(starz92 @ Jul 19 2010, 10:16 AM)
Hi.I've applied for the star education fund and got the scholarship. The problem i am facing now is that i handed up my offer letter together with the agreement to my college which in turn will sent it back to the star.As this was my first time receiving scholarship,i don't know that i have to keep the original copy of the offer letter and the college did not ask me to do so. So what should i do now? (i don't even have the photostated copy of the offer letter)
any help would be greatly appreciated.thanks in advance smile.gif
*
I have electronics form of my offer letters. I keep it as applying for scholarship will always need it. As your current situation suggests, chances are you don't need it anymore. In case you need it, ask your college administration to send you another copy.

Do not receive any scholarship/financial assistance/bursaries from other bodies.

Does that statement means I cannot be under PTPTN loan if I would like to apply for the scholarship?
*
Yes, if you want to take up PTPTN loan, you cannot accept any scholarship offer.

Government is having funding difficulty for this program? I think he meant so. In other words, suspended until further notice.
