QUOTE(noobie1 @ Apr 15 2010, 02:34 PM) yup..i will suggest hoya as well...if hoya is over budget, then there is nothing else i can help...it is better to get hoya filter,or if u are rich b+w then...otherwise better dun get at all... I don't know la bro, not good in lens. I just read through an article on some site about lens. There are standard, wide and telephoto lens, and also macro, fish eye and few more.how wide u need?? i dun reli know any wide angle lens in 1k, but i know a few wide angle lens, but they are all over 1k... What can you recommend for RM1K+, RM1500? QUOTE(smokey @ Apr 15 2010, 02:37 PM) cheapest wide angle is sigma 10-20mm i think which can autofocus with d3000...i think that also cost u 2k d... So the standard price for a wide angle lens is RM2K onwards? nikon 10-24mm is sharper than sigma alot but that cost 3k d...zzz All wide angle lens start from 10-xx, right? I know the lower is for wide angle, the higher is for telephoto. What are the 2 common lens most photographer have? Wide and Telephoto lenses? I plan to buy wide lens and telephoto/macro lens. QUOTE(maxh3h3 @ Apr 15 2010, 02:42 PM) 1 k hard to suggest u anything lar What do you mean by convert bro? Care to explain? with less than that i could only suggest u to buy a raynox wide angle lens convert. This post has been edited by zeist: Apr 15 2010, 02:59 PM |

If yes, then I buy this better. Otherwise, 18-105mm also ok. I know the output won't be as good as 10-24mm. |

QUOTE(smokey @ Apr 15 2010, 04:19 PM) ya 18-200 is consider as wide to telephoto... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/APS-Cbut d3000 is APS-C sensor...so u need to consider 1.5x crop factor... ur actual focal would be 18*1.5 = 27mm....haha...not really wide but still acceptable la... i would consider sigma 18-250mm OS...it got quite good review and selling 2.2k if nt mistaken... Added on April 15, 2010, 4:20 pmbut most of the time i wont use 250mm i think...prefer to shoot wide all the time... How do you calculate actually? 18mm*1.5? The front measurement? The reason I want to buy wide lens is to combine 2 - 3 images as one. I've seen a few here before, i'm impressed. QUOTE(General_Nic @ Apr 15 2010, 04:27 PM) zeist:wide angle converter is a converter mount on any lens to make it capture wider images I also read saying that kit-lens shutter speed is always faster than any other lens, true?example if u have 18-55, use converter, at 18mm it'll give image close to 16 or 17mm not much difference n reduce image quality a lot, but thats the cheapest wide angle solution u have but IMO, for casual everyday shooting n standard landscape shots, 18mm of kitlens is way good enuf d do u really nid that wide? n there's no common lens, it differs from ppl to ppl but if wanna know, i'll say 18-55/18-105 r very common as it's kitlens, then 24-70 for FX users Let's keep the lens aside first. This is what I plan to buy (full set), budget RM3K max. - D3000 + kit-lens = RM1,7xx - Extra battery = To keep as spare - Lens hood = Need one to avoid flare - Speedlight = Afraid the built on one not strong enough, go for it? - Good bag - Dry box - UV filter = what do you suggest? - Lens cloth, brush, cleaning liquid With only RM1,300, can I get the rest in bold? Hoya HD RM165 - Lens cloth, brush, cleaning liquid - lenspen + giottos rocket blower = RM60 With only RM1,300, can I get the rest in bold? laugh.gif sweat.gif * total = RM 1075 only thumbup.gif No budget for lens, maybe next time. The UV filter a abit steep. I remember I saw some UV filters cost in between RM60 - RM100. Good enough? * Other ques: Let say if I don't use the camera for 1 or 2 days, is it ok if I just leave it inside the bag? I still don't know the dry box settings. I read kmarc's thread, that we need to flash the lens once or twice a week to kill all unwanted fungus. |

QUOTE - D3000 + kit-lens = RM1,7xx - Extra battery = To keep as spare 3rd party brand is good enuf, rm50-60 - Lens hood = Need one to avoid flare do u reli nid hood? at 18-55 range, hardly have flare problm, thats y it is not supplied when u buy the kitlens - Speedlight = Afraid the built on one not strong enough, go for it? Nissin Di622 is good n worth for wat u pay, rm450 + diffuser rm20 + batteries - Good bag wat kind of bag u nid? jz a small bag enuf to keep these stuffs u gonna buy? the free 1 is enuf, or u nid super large backpack which can fit laptop, large lenses, tripod, plenty other stuffs? think b4 u buy - Dry box r u gonna always use your cam? like snap at least a pic everyday? unless u hardly use your cam n leave it aside for long period of time, i dun c u have to get a drybox now, wait till u know wat other lenses u gonna buy then only buy suitable size drybox - UV filter = what do you suggest? Get wat Bad melatonin suggest, Hoya UV filter, those rm50-100 oso count as cap ayam oso, gives serious flare. Get Hoya or dun get any at all, coz the cheap filters oso cant help much in protecting your lens, n the kitlens is tougher than u think - Lens cloth, brush, cleaning liquid Get Lenspen, rm28 If hood is not necessary then I skip this. What is diffuser? I read that, fake bag won't protect the camera 100%. After sometime the grip will be harden or worse, crack. If I don't use the camera 1 or 2 days, leave inside the bag, is that fine? Found this lenspen, looks cool. ![]() I wanna take pictures like panaroma, close up (human), panning. Macro don't think I can get the best result since I can't afford the lens. I really like panning shots. There is this technique where I can do multiple shadows of myself in a picture. Flash once then move, flash again then move. What do you call this technique? I left out another, the package doesn't include tripod. What tripod can you suggest? Only use this for group picture or when I need to be in it as well. This post has been edited by zeist: Apr 15 2010, 11:25 PM |

QUOTE(bad melatonin @ Apr 15 2010, 11:55 PM) not 20% la.. 5w power consumption only. furthermore it will auto cut off/on whenever needed. I think I try silica gel first. i put a pack of silica gel in my dslr bag & function like drybox oso. so leaving 1 ~ 2 days i think shud not be a problem. wow thats lenspen cun... where can i get it? my current lenspen i use it for lcd cleaner already tripod come in handy for low shutter speed snap... No idea, I just randomly google and I found it. I think I need a cloth too, to wipe off thumbprints. QUOTE(General_Nic @ Apr 15 2010, 11:59 PM) Zeist:diffuser is for flash, reduce the harshness of the flash n give softer light for nicer portrait this is a must have if have external flash, very usefulĀ u mean the fake bag cant protect the cam frm wat? bag can only protect the cam frm bumps n fall, but wont protect it frm fungus or dust the problm of the grip rubber u said is most likely the person put too much or strong silica gel in it the rubber will dry up cos all moisture is absorbed by the silica gel, thus harden n crack dun use cam 1 or 2 days is fine, even not use it for a week is fine too a month oso can but u r taking the risk normally fungus grows when the cam is left untouched for few months in humid area if kept in aircon room oso reduce the chance of getting fungus thats the lenspen, but its the 1st time ive seen Nikon lenspenĀ the technique u asked, issit pic of 'many' of u within it? this is created by combining in photoshop softwares using multiple shots tripod, depends, i only used less than 5 times other than group shots, it is useful for landscape n long exposure shots i suggest Benro, can check garage section, got forumers selling it ![]() I found this, DIY flash diffuser. Fake bag material is poor, but I guess they are moreless the same, unsure. If I put 2 packs of silica gel inside, that should be just nice right? Talking about lens, how often do you flash your lens? Oh yea, do you remove the lens all the time or just keep in intact? I afraid by removing lens, some little dust will do inside the body area, i think its called shutter or frame? Is it safe to use lens pen to clean it? I'm not sure about DSLR, but I got to know this technique in SLR. You flash once, then move, then flash again, and move, then only you snap. If you move twice, you'll get 3 same figure in the photo. No, not edited using photoshop. I can't remember how and when to flash. Edited: I think the technique is long exposure ler, like what you mentioned. Heard about long exposure shots, need a lot of patience to have excellent quality pics. There is a special shutter button for this technique right? I like this effect: http://tutorials20.com/misc/long-exposure-basic/ This post has been edited by zeist: Apr 16 2010, 12:33 AM |

Anyone here accidently drop their lenses before? This can claim warranty or not?
If less than 7 days, can we get 1 to 1 exchange? |
