Hey, do you guys shoot with ADL on or off? It really takes a much longer time for the photo to show on the LCD (bout 3secs) when it's turned on. Maybe the processor of the D3000 is last century's tongue.gif

Anybody here experienced in shooting moon? I plan to get a nice clear image of the moon, cropping it out, since my range cant reach like those 500mm.... I heard the setting is 1/1000s F8 iso500, any better recommendation?
*
Shooting the moon takes lots of tries and practice. You have to mess with the Shutter and Aperture in M mode smile.gif

Here's mine during last month smile.gif

user posted image

Aperture: f/7.1
Shutter: 1/250
Focal Length: 200mm I only have 55-200, so that's the max that I could zoom smile.gif
ISO: 200 and Handheld tongue.gif

Cheers

wooow woow.... I love your moon shot, I thought 55-200 cant do this man.... U cropped it out right? At wat time u shot this?
*
hahahaha as I said, shooting the moon takes loads of patience hahahaha I took this during the Earth Hour last month. Got nothing to do, so I spent the whole hour outside my home shooting the moon and messing with all the settings to get it right. It was a good investment smile.gif And yeah... I cropped it smile.gif

For those who are short of cash and can only afford a D3000, I took this pic using my D3000. It's a decent camera la, just that it's not as good as its other older brothers only smile.gif

Cheers

but it can't take much of bokeh shots?

It is quite ok la with kit lens...

This is taken with the kit lens of the D3000

Worse comes to worst, just increase the distance between the object in focus and the background tongue.gif

that's for close-up only right? if potrait need fast lens?

Of course with a fast lens you can get better bokeh effects, and that's what those fast lens are for in the first place, higher aperture. But for poor chaps like me, just make do with what I have lor hahahaha smile.gif
