hi guys,
i need to buy dslr , which is nikon brand cos im quite familiar with it GUI cos been using D40 before this...

my budget seem around RM2k i guess

model that i interested right now is D3000 & D5000.
i would take D5000 but got tight budget, so mybe D3000
but its function less than D5000 i guess.

my area of photography just people, nature. sometime foods.

so, i need some view from u all.. take D3000 now or wait more times to up my budget and get D5000? n im not in hurry to find dslr anyways

d way i c it, budget is an issue here & rational decision shud b considered.
if ur ok wt d3000 specs & if it fits ur budget then just go for it. or else u cud wait & save up more 4 d5000.
who knows by d time u hv enuf fundings, price of d5000 will further decrease & u wud hv xtra moolah for other things. eg. good filter & among others.
having said dat, its all up 2u...

is this ur 1st dslr?? i remember u said u use D40 before right?? well,by that mean u have some lens too...
in that case, if ur budget was around 2490, then my advise is buy D90 body and use back the lens u use on D40...
this is what i called upgrade...i mean, what the point if u upgrade from D40 to D3k or D5k?? why not straight to D90 which have motor in the body, dual command dial, bigger lcd and most of all, it's dropping price now!!!! flex.gif  flex.gif

D40 is not mine.. its my bro

so, basically.. this is my 1st dslr. so, i dont want to buy D3000, i want D5000 instead cos the features mostly same with D90.
if i bought D90, then i dont have budget for lens.. thats mean my budget only D5000.
well, about the motor, i think its not problem since many lens now got in lens motor. laugh.gif

oic...well, if that is the case, then just buy ur D5k bah..as for the price drop, i personally dont think the price will drop much..since there is rumor said that the price drop for D90 will increase after may...so just buy it and dont think so much...

just my opinion...

if u dont mind secondhand, u could consider buying d80 + 50mm 1.8 and 18-55 VR kit len
for the budget of rm2500
there is alot of nice used d80 out there
trust d80 is more of a long run for u in DSLR
i sold mine for rm1850 (body only)
just do it slowly, need any advice, pm me
