Yup. he's the guy who suggest the FUP during Live chat with Datuk Dr Maximus Ongkili. And TM apply his suggestion in unifi

1.9 megabits or 1.9 megabytes ...

if 1.9 megabits per sec then 1mbps connection is faster then your HSBB.

in download terms

1.9 megabits = 190 kilobytes per sec = streamyx 2mb package

1.9 megabytes = 1900 kilobytes per sec = HSBB 20mbps package

roughly counting la

i can get constant 195KBps starting from 12am-8am everyday @1mbps connection. 8am-11pm, my speed reduced to 70KBps. before this, i can get that speed for whole day

that means congestion's in your area. nothing much you can do about it ... getting 195KB/s for 1mbps is good ler ur getting 90% more then your advertised speed.
*
actually, not many subscribe streamyx in my area since it's occupied by uni students. it happens last few weeks. i believe hmm.gif

so glad that they removed the cap! Almost wanted to go for the new pricing for 4MB streamyx, now 20Mb uncapped!
*
take note, remove and suspend are 2 different word

suspend - halt temporarily.
remove - abolish or get rid of

in this case, TM have a rights to impose cap anytime they like

I am thinking of subscribing to VIP20 and share the usage with my neighbour. Instead of subscribing to VIP5 for RM149/month with a cap of 60GB (if they implement), we will pay RM125/month with a cap of 60GB (if shared by 2. but it will be a give and take).
We will have a speed of 20Mbps instead of 5Mbps.
After all, they are giving a N wireless router which can get signal a few houses away.

What do you guys think?
*
you make some sort of agreement for your neighbors to cover part of the subscription fee with you. smile.gif

KUALA LUMPUR: The three UniFi packages launched by Telekom Malaysia Bhd ™ on Wednesday cannot be unbundled and consumers have to take what is offered as there is no a la carte options.

This could potentially be an issue for some users who may not want all UniFi offers. UniFi’s packages priced at RM149, RM199 and RM249 per month come with high-speed broadband, IPTV (Internet protocol TV), free voice calls and some other offerings.

With the pricing viewed as being on the high side, many wonder if TM could have priced the packages lower by unbundling these offerings.

“It is all bundled together, there is (no a la carte),” TM group chief executive officer Datuk Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa said.

to be precise, TM is the 'retailer/distributor' for other ISPs. Any 'warranty' (downtime) occured, these ISPs need to refer to TM

if foreign ISP such as SingTel ley their own backbone and sell to other local ISPs, then we can see the competition. smile.gif

How come they are offering HD channel who is likely not most of people care to watch? i bet out of 1000 customer only 5 will be watching.

I hope they add some good channel worth of out money, i was actually hoping if they could deliver local tv station in HD tongue.gif
that would be cool.
*
our local TV station already show lots of crappy shows. I already stopped watching tv 2 years ago.

QUOTE(gstoh @ Mar 29 2010, 02:10 PM)
I think the way you calculate is not so appropriate
the 7.3GB for 2hours 720p HD movie usually has multichannel audio(5.1) which consume some amount of bandwidth

usually TV HD broadcast does not have sound surround.

what tm is trying to offer the HD channel should similar to what youtube is doing  hmm.gif
*
It depends the quality of 720p. some of them as high as 8GB for 1 1/2 hour 720p movie

The best part about half (or more) of the people complaining about Unifi here is that they can't even sign up for it yet because they're not covered.. and when users who have ALREADY signed up for it and are using it post their experiences, they get told off for being morons. It's as though you people think that if Unifi eventually gets capped, we won't be able to access the internet by any other means at all.

*
that's the problem for other states, especiallt east malaysia. we're being neglected. sleep.gif

hahaha the response on Unifi registration is OVERWHELMING according to the CS

so much for the boycott. the only people boycotting are:

a. super heavy downloaders
b. people who cant even apply for the service <- thanks to TM who launch the service on specific area
c. the so-called 6% who hog 80% of total streamyx bandwidth
