Sometimes streaming TV series like Glee can really count towards the cap.
*
Err.. didn't u all know that the streaming of IPTV DOES NOT INCLUDE in the internet-download-quota?

the internet-download-quota is solely for internet. The Streaming IPTV is unlimited. U can watch the streaming IPTV 24/7 biggrin.gif

btw, now the CAP thingy have been lifted out. Why need to mock anymore??

i dont think he means IPTV
*
owh, i thought he meant "Streaming TV" which make me think its IPTV, but its "streaming TV Series" tongue.gif what happen to my eyes? Blur already sweat.gif

anyway, since now the CAP has been lifted out, why need mocking anymore? Now u can enjoy UNLIMITED Internet. U can use 24/7 if u want. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(robertngo @ Mar 26 2010, 04:16 PM)
so does the IPTV require a seperate phone line?

their website really no professionally managed, keep changing after they announced the service.
*
No. They used the same line, but there's a device used to seperate between "Internet", "IPTV" and "Telephone Line", which known as Set-top box. But I'm not sure though. Can someone clarify on me regarding this matter?

yup agree with you..
HSBB need cap.. to ensure stability and good speed 24/7..
*
so which cap u think personally is better?

Cap monthly download usage or cap on certain period of time?
or did we've any other cap choices?

people who had live on oversea should have experience on this (i heard UK implement the cap thingy regardless the HSBB that they have)

QUOTE(Neptern @ Mar 26 2010, 06:29 PM)
Some people download game demos, mmos, steam games, watch 720p and 1080p youtube etc...

60GB is just not enough...
*
but they do mention that its just capped to 20%, means for 5mb then after 60Gb dwld, the speed will reduce to 1mb.. u can still dwld/youtubing/etc2 but at low speed laa tongue.gif

I think TM can implement the cap but with higher bandwidth or else they can cut the speed to 50% and not 10% as what they currently do.

5mbps, 50% = 2.5mbps..
10mbps, 50% = 5mbps..

I think this should be ok...10% is nonsense..
*
wow, nice idea!

If TM wan capped for all the packages, fine...just decrease the 5MB price to RM100...tats all
*
i don't think that would work coz they will keep complaining tongue.gif

the main point they bragged is they still can charged at current price but plz apply a reasonable capped. Thats it.

*
yes, temporary. So now enjoy it to the max la.

After being imposed the cap thingy (heard that it gonna be on 2011, but not sure), then cry.gif LOL

I'm really hope TM could revise the Cap.

I know that worldwide is implementing cap including Aus, UK and US, but lets hope TM could revised it so that its fair and square and win-win situation. biggrin.gif

it's wireless N by the way

makes no diff. all backward compatible
*
it do have different la.

N is faster than a/b/g. It have stronger reception from the added antenna, which means less loss.

So later on when they implement it your gonna cry, rant and pull your hair out and say "Ok I didn't sign up for this shit", well guess what too late dumbo, your tied in by the contract.

LONG TERM, thats what matters
*
Err, shouldn't u read all those T&C including all in very small font before signing-up any contract? It its clearly stated in the T&C, and u couldn't claim ""Ok I didn't sign up for this shit"" tongue.gif

anyway, back on track, I know the cap thingy totally limits our tempting to subscribe it. Thats why we need to keep demanding until its win-win situation. U know, they're business person, they should know supply-demand chain rule. biggrin.gif

After 1 week

Man: apsal internet tetiba perlahan

Wan: pasal encik dah pakai lebih limit

Man: eh, ada limit ke?

Wan: ada la. encik tak baca betul2 ke?

At last Man got con by TM.

PS.. joke also.  biggrin.gif
*
The jokes back on you as now they already suspend (means temporarily) lifted out the cap policy.

At last Man enjoy his Unifi to the max!

p/s: this is also a joke. tongue.gif no hard feelings, k? biggrin.gif

rather than capping... maybe they can offer packages like... 2Mbps during peak hour, 5Mbps during off-peak hour. Unlimited cap. Maybe this can reduce network traffic during peak hour. Anyone with me? Lolz
*
QUOTE(sg999 @ Mar 27 2010, 02:57 PM)
agree
or after exceed the limit
at least 2m to use la
*
I'm with you too!! Country like German implement the same way.

I'm really hope they change the capping ways, based on peak-hour and unlimited, not as per usage.

i think can...but no way TM allow other telco to use it
*
Err, other telcos (celcom/digi/maxis) are actually using TM backbone. Heard this from my friends long time ago, who happen to be an engineer in telecommunication industries. smile.gif

I don't know la if today they already can built their own infrastructure. But all on all, they still need to pass-through TM in any ways bcoz TM is the pioneer of Telco industries in Malaysia, hence many tower/base-station is build by TM.

Wow, my memory still serve me well.

Means they still use TM backbone/infrastructure la, rite? Now who said other telco can't used TM service. tongue.gif

p/s: this seems a lil bit out of topic. laugh.gif

QUOTE(cyclonekid @ Mar 28 2010, 01:20 PM)
I've been reading this thread since it started. They are comparing services from SG and MY. Well im currently in NZ for another 3 years and I think UniFi is better than any service over here.(besides the cap) Internet over here is very fast but damn expensive. Im paying RM 250 for 10mbps with only a 30GB package. If I pass my 30gb I need to pay RM5 for every GB I pass. Sigh...
*
Seems our HSBB is much2 better (in terms of price and download quota) than NZ.

But to compare with other asian countries, like Korea/Japan, they're much cheaper.

Don't know should I be thankful or mad. tongue.gif
