1MB to US server ? Thats non-sense. Planning to apply UniFi when its available at my place in Selayang. From the feedback i see so far, connection speed to Australia, Singapore and local seems good, but US 1 MB????
Wah, this is going to make me re-consider. I download like crazy on my current 512kb package. If im going to pay 150% more for my broadband, i expect major improvement. |

QUOTE(Suk @ Mar 31 2010, 07:57 PM) No point yet, let the number of unifi users build up first, im sure by end of April there will a few hundred subscribers here on LYN. Then we can do something crazy Warning : *Note : Many torrent trackers have been the target of cease and desist lawsuits from copyright bodies despite the fact that a tracker does not actually host or distribute any copyrighted data itself. *Adopted from wikipedia.com This post has been edited by rattan: Mar 31 2010, 08:01 PM |

QUOTE(rizvanrp @ Mar 31 2010, 09:39 PM) At the moment, no traffic caps, no bandwidth issues.. no real need for a local p2p system. The only people it would benefit are Streamyx users but then again they'll all be leeching since their upload is 50KB/s maximum. Installs just started on 29th for retail so maybe if we wait a month or two, there will be a Unifi users thread then we can organize a new system. It'll probably help reduce the impact of p2p on our international links and keep the surfing speed up. Ya u really make a point, its something to be considered. If this ideology works out, everyone on all ISP's will benefit. Best to start rolling out the plan now itself. 1.5GB in 1 hour? 4mbps Streamyx can do that. Unifi is like 1.5gb in 10 - 14 minutes |

QUOTE(Neptern @ Apr 1 2010, 12:04 AM) 100mbps?Now 20mbps is like rm249 so 100mbps will be rm1245? For now the VIP5 package for residential users, if they can keep up the service delivery will be good enough, then we can talk about 100MB.Please don't even dream of affording it unless you are a very rich person.Unless there is a huge price reduction i just don't see it coming anytime soon. Btw,will the residential package ever reach 1gbps?I know business package will get it someday but how about average joe like us? |

QUOTE(slickz @ Apr 1 2010, 10:49 PM) I don't know man, all this ranting about how our broadband sucks and how it is lagging behind other countries.... So ... other countries broadband so perfect? is the grass REALLY greener on the other side? I agree with u. we should not be all complaint. Grass always "feel" greener on the other side, not to fact.http://www.comcastsucks.org/ http://www.who-sucks.com/tech/8-reasons-wh...yond-all-belief No matter what broadband company out there, there'll still be people like you guys who just go and just kutuuuuuuk only. Do take note that the unifi service JUST launched. Premium prices are a norm with new tech. How cheap was the ipod touch when it first launched? Remember the ridiculous price of the PS3? The PSP? I think I've spent enough time in this subforum. Goodbye. |

QUOTE(iori @ Apr 2 2010, 12:25 AM) TM before launching would have thought abt this, thats why they have contract..Also, even if they place a cap, 60GB is quite abit to download a month. The download adrenalin will just be in the beginning. Some users on this thread have already bored/dunno what else to download a major downloads. So guess this will apply to all of the users. Just like how streamyx was when i first installed. |

anyone tried logging into the fiber modem ?
possible ? can login to the wireless router provided by TM ? login to enable port forwarding/dyndns etc ? Edit : Still no sign of TM contractors pulling fiber cable in my housing area. Dunno if TM can fulfill their promise to bring Unifi Q4 2010 - Selayang. This post has been edited by rattan: Apr 6 2010, 04:51 AM |

QUOTE(hong1380 @ Apr 6 2010, 01:12 PM) Maybe that explains, because the telephone pole is just behind my house a few doors away, i dun see any fiber optic cable or FTTH box or any white box. I really doubt if my housing area is supported by HSBB then. My place is very near to the pasar borong baru. |

QUOTE(gotdamsg @ Apr 6 2010, 05:59 PM) if HSBB related cables, they will put a sign similar to "Project Jalur Lebar Berkelajuan Tinggi". Kesulitan amat dikesali. It will surely feel really good to see TM putting up those cones infront of my house and doing work. Ill surely hand them a few cold drinks. HeheheOn their orange cones also got the same label. That what I saw yesterday in front of my house. |
