the user lalala_lalala cannot differentiate 20mbps thinking it should download 20MB/s ...

if hes downloading at 2MB/s then it should be just right ..

the beta tester are those ppl to test out the connection in the area if the installation of laying down of cables and stress test .. i will be at my bro's house this weekend to test out the HSBB and see if the speed is constant and no disconnections ..

soon enough they will definitely throttle youtube, torrents, and so. Just the matter of time.
*

it wont be as same as wimax .. lol

HSBB is wired based type connection and wimax is none-wired based connection ...

my suggestion is not to start paying for the service unless your totally commited to paying it for 2 years..

practically, my download speed is only around 1.9megabits per sec. (this is the fastest download speed i've achieved so far)
*
1.9 megabits or 1.9 megabytes ...

if 1.9 megabits per sec then 1mbps connection is faster then your HSBB.

in download terms

1.9 megabits = 190 kilobytes per sec = streamyx 2mb package

1.9 megabytes = 1900 kilobytes per sec = HSBB 20mbps package

roughly counting la

Just wanna ask a question, the streamyx package which include 512kb and 1mb, have unlimited usage right? No caps is applied to this line? So in the future, will they do cap this packages as well? Just a noob question.
*
there is always a possibility that normal streamyx will be given monthly caps but there isnt any announcement on the confirmation of the fair usage policy implementation.

i can get constant 195KBps starting from 12am-8am everyday @1mbps connection. 8am-11pm, my speed reduced to 70KBps. before this, i can get that speed for whole day
*
that means congestion's in your area. nothing much you can do about it ... getting 195KB/s for 1mbps is good ler ur getting 90% more then your advertised speed.

Boycott UniFi for expensive monthly charge!
*

Wow, this thread has grown so fast I had no time to catch up on it.

Anyways, if this has not been mentioned yet, TM's twitter page is a good source for their latest announcements.

Can anyone tell me if I subscribe to the Streamyx BlockBuster deal now but terminate it in less than 1 year to switch over to UniFi when it is available in my area, whether I need to pay the admin fee of RM350 for not completing the contract?

That's funny because I just called up Shira at Unifi and she confirmed there is no cap for VIP package for now and that the capping might only start next year 2011.

Anyway - I already subscribed to the Biz5 package yesterday.
*
yay!

oops edited, didnt see your applying for biz5, no cap anyways~

QUOTE(robertngo @ Mar 26 2010, 04:16 PM)
so does the IPTV require a seperate phone line?

their website really no professionally managed, keep changing after they announced the service.
*
QUOTE(lulz @ Mar 26 2010, 04:17 PM)
^ 3 in 1 , so no need another line.
*
its actually like this ...

fibre optic will be connected into your house into a splitter converting it from fibre to cat6 then from the cat6 it will be conected to a modem which will spilt it summore IPTV/Phone/Internet. for internet ada 4 cat5 ports which can be connected to a wireless router or straight to pc.

if im not mistaken the normal phone line cable (RJ-45) is not needed.

if not seperate i open the HD channel for a few hour would have reach limit already.
*
yea IPTV connection is totally separated from your normal internet. IPTV is dedicated which will not effect your monthly quota of bandwidth (whenever it will be re-implemented)
