Yea i see that daily cap clause...at least now they are reconsidering it.

I would prefer monthly cap honestly,a higher one of course.

Yes we do complain but the low caps are really ridiculous.

Everyone has different needs for using the internet and tmnut should do something to cater for it.It seems like they wanna put low cap to save cost and as usual squeeze us like shit.

Because it so happens that when it comes to unifi, there are people who are willing to voice out. If you want to voice out about astro, be my guest.

Do I want them to make it uncapped? That would be nice, but its not what I'm asking for. I'm asking for a revision in the cap sizes because 60GB is seriously way too low for 5mbps. To me, it doesn't seem to cater to the whole idea of a high speed broadband plan, it doesn't seem to be pushing the country forward in terms of technology and mindset.

Whether the downloads are legal or illegal, is not the point, the future ahead of us is one where bandwidth usage will be high. We can already download original games through steam, and games are getting larger and larger. Youtube itself already offers high definition, lets not forget sites like divx stage 6. What about songs which people can download via itunes?

There will always be abusers, which is why I don't mind the cap, keeps things levelled, but the cap has to be right for the speed as well. If they want to make a 60GB plan, I can accept that, if they charge like RM60 for it.

Tmnet just wants to squeeze as much money out of us without investing in better international bandwidth. and they will continue to blame the users. Is that how a company should be running a business? Blaming its users? Think about it for a second before you come up with a response.

I agree too.Nowadays there are a lot of bandwidth heavy stuff on the internet and the 60gb cap is just too darn little.

Some of you people who use the internet for email, light surfing, msn and stuff shouldn't even bother subscribing to Unifi. Please just don't waste your money doing so.

HD youtube, steam downloads, game demos and patches, online gaming, legal game downloads and etc need quite substantial bandwidth and for online gaming, good quality internet. The lowest package's 60gb cap and most expensive package's 120gb is just not enough. Not to mention it is quite expensive as well. sad.gif

Even if only cap international bandwidth the cap is still too low for the expensive price we pay.

More bandwidth=more damage fiber optic?I'm not too sure about this but when that time really comes, it will be years before that happen and maybe tmnut need to replace the old fiber with new ones.I think our weather is more of a concern on damaging the fiber....

Japan and Korea are using it like crazy and i don't seem to hear anything about them replacing their fiber optic cables....

mane ada hehehe.. give TM some credit lah.. eventually everyone needs to jump for FTTH right? even now there's no limit on download per month. i wont push it la, last month i downloaded 100GB only and that's because i bought a new HDD...

so yeah, ill simply be enjoying this service for a longer period compared to you guys hehehe

you guys protest, make the service better, while ill enjoy the ride ok? i dont see how it can be worse than strreamyx for the price; not to mention free phone calls, 10cents/minute to mobile, free IPTV with cheap movies and other shows on demand, and stable 5Mbps internet...

cant beat that... 60GB limit? big deal (and no limit till end of year)

------

tl;dr version: I'm thinking positively, the concerns you lot have is nothing but a small pebble <--- i dont mean it in a bad way, your concerns are valid so long as it applies to you.

I think tmnut is kinda putting you on drugs and let you enjoy for a while then when you're hooked there's no turning back even if they put a 10gb cap or raise the price. tongue.gif

Seriously,i am a bit envy about the speeds and at least i can see how things play out first before considering to subscribe(Q4 here). icon_rolleyes.gif

alalala, they are not that stupid le; none of you guys are giving them any credit. at least they responded to the public outcry about the low cap. as of now they will take their time to determine the right amount of cap. im not the least worried, i dont even think 60GB is too little...

Even before commercial release there are already beta testers testing out unifi and they can't figure it out during the trial period?

I think this is a marketing ploy to make people subscribe(a very bad one indeed).Give a low cap then ppl complain then take out the cap for a time being to make tons of people to subscribe. After that do market skimming to milk us with higher prices then only lower the price and implement cap.

Just my 2 cents of course. hmm.gif

not at all. trial period only to root out technical problems. there were only about 120 testers in subang area, dont tell me you expect them to determine usage pasterns from this small a sample.

cap is the way of the future lah, bandwidth is not infinite, if a small percentage of users are using a large majority of bandwidth, it wouldnt be fair to the rest right?

We'll see about that.Hopefully they are more reasonable with the caps... nod.gif

Even using streamyx now with throttling everywhere it still feels kinda slow...just ok for surfing only....

Don't forget that we are the ones who are complaining that made them remove the cap(for a while). If not i think you already reach the cap and using screamyx speeds already...

Heh i guess if more people subscribe to it,the more solid reason we got to complaint like hell to ensure tmnut don't give sucky internet.
