I don't mind cap, but it's too damn small. Price is not worth it considering average malaysia income.

QUOTE(teelim @ Mar 25 2010, 02:28 PM) i think alot of ppl can settle for 5mbps speed but the cap and price makes it less attarctive. thats what the fuss is about Exactly. if it was just speed, then alright ... (grumble). but when you put the low cap into the equation = wtf !!!This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Mar 25 2010, 02:31 PM |

Boycotting unifi we still lose. u know why. cauz we fall back onto 1mb streamyx adsl which also belongs to tmnut.
moral of the story, even settling for lesser of the 2 evils, tmnut still makes money off us. The one who truly benefit is the tmnut staff with 30% discount, rich elites and those very very special important people This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Mar 25 2010, 02:43 PM |

QUOTE(ericpires @ Mar 25 2010, 02:56 PM) They should NOT force us to take IPTV. There should be an option to choose... not force it down our throats...i could care less about IPTV I don't mind iptv so much. For me personally i think iptv is the logical step to take to replace our astro.Remember when it rains and it kills our astro??? iptv can stream 1080p using this new hsbb. Even the phone via internet is a good thing because it's free to local calls. The only bullshit thing is the cap size too damn small. 300gb sounds more reasonable to me as well And if i am pushing it, at least reduce price cheaper by making the modem and router optional so we can get our own hardware so they can lower our subscription fee. If not the modem, at least the router because that one is easily available. QUOTE(SSJBen @ Mar 25 2010, 03:13 PM) The biggest about the cap isn't the monthly cap. To me their both bad. the daily cap more so Its the DAILY CAP. Apparently, if you're on the 5mbps package you'll have 60GB a month at that translates to 2GB a day. Download any more than that, 1mbps you go.... or some say, 512kbps. I don't know to laugh, to get pissed or to cry. QUOTE IPTV is basically television presented over the Internet, instead of being broadcast through the air. The benefits are the viewers can choose what they want to see and when. So no more repeats. Just watch what you want to watch whenever you want This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Mar 25 2010, 03:24 PM |

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Mar 25 2010, 03:50 PM) It's not, some else said it's on another dedicated 8MB line. So,you are getting a 8MB line dedicated for IPTV,and your subcried line for you normal usage.Do we even need IPTV??? That 8 mb is local i thought These people are ubelievably stupid, assuming that IPTV can manage 24/7 non stop broadcasting. Why cant they get rid of that IPTV and give everyone a 8MB unlimited interenet? If not, dont tell me the IPTV also lags when too many people is watching it. Reduce to 1MB. |

QUOTE(rockets @ Mar 25 2010, 04:06 PM) you idiots don't seem to understand. they need to cap it because there isn't enough bandwidth to go around for everyone. get it? streamyx is also getting capped soon, enjoy it while it last. ![]() Read this article and open up your eyes http://ariffshah.com/unifi-high-speed-broa...-russians-hsbb/ The issue at hand is the price for speed with a small cap is not justified, seeing as how other countries are able to offer faster for cheaper and at unlimited no less. So why can't tmnut ? If not enough international bandwidth, they need to upgrade, not make stupid sponsorship deals with alex ferguson's manchester united This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Mar 25 2010, 04:30 PM |

QUOTE(rockets @ Mar 25 2010, 04:42 PM) i never said the price was right, i said there was a need to CAP. if there was no cap everyone is going to have turtle speed and you would be here crying again. so which is it you want? I want them to make the cap more reasonable at least ( my usage is roughly 300 gb ish a month )+ remove the daily cap, Or remove cap altogether; Or reduce the price so we don't need to b**** about the cap TM is already pulling another cable to the US, you think a cable this long can be done in one day? even if you had the money it'd still take years to finish. it's just unfortunate they had to roll out HSBB when they don't have enough international bandwith to support it, which is why for now it needs to be capped. |

QUOTE(satoshi.mifune @ Mar 25 2010, 05:14 PM) i agree, no point of them rolling out high speeds if they are only targeting users who surf and check their e-mails, heck even streamyx lowest speed could accomplish that easily unless they are trying to squeeze all the unused bandwith they can get by these customers so they could make more profit selling them to other country while still get money from monthly subscription Or if their international atm cannot cope, then ok put cap BUT lower the damn price. When they can deliver international bandwidth 80% then hike up price.Added on March 25, 2010, 5:18 pm greed blinded these people which causes them to look in their direction but not ours i know we are not in their shoes to know how hard it is to resist the temptation to squeeze all the money you can while you have the opportunity but what the heck Not charge us a bomb when they cannot even deliver international bandwidth |

QUOTE(jieming @ Mar 26 2010, 01:37 AM) Guys don't just complaint, MAKE SURE YOU COMPLAINT THE RIGHT THING. Yes i could live with those suggested caps.Asking for unlimited bandwidth is IMPOSSIBLE. TM won't let you D/U 6TB of data for RM249. Instead, ask them at least double or triple the cap Crap: 60GB 90GB 120GB MORE REALISTIC: 120GB 200GB 300GB But.... imho increase the daily cap or remove altogether imho... QUOTE(b00n @ Mar 26 2010, 09:59 AM) To answer your query, the topic was merged because there's an earlier topic on "Rants" created by Roxygal: no harm done, and thx for clearing it up And since this topic was created later in regards to "rants" also although of different nature (capping vs slowness/connectivity); I decided to merge it together. Maybe it's my mistake for doing that, but I see too many similar topics around (was clearing couple topics in regards to HSBB). Anyway, thanks to wKkay who rectified the situation. |

QUOTE(Matrix @ Mar 26 2010, 10:23 AM) The Star also highlight the capped issue: That sums it all up....http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=...0663&sec=nation PETALING JAYA: After the excitement of Telekom Malaysia unveiling UniFi, its high-speed broadband service that offers Internet speeds of up to 20 megabits per second (Mbps), the bubble burst for many consumers here. Some are disappointed over what they feel are expensive charges for the packages for home users: RM149 for 5Mbps RM199 for 10Mbps RM249 for 20Mbps. In Singapore, a 1Gbps (gigabit per second) service – which is five times the speed of a 20Mbps connection – only costs about RM200. But the real disappointment is the realisation that the UniFi packages have a cap on the amount of data that can be downloaded. The consumers bristled when they learned that the 5Mbps service is capped at 60GB of data per month. The 10Mbps service is capped at 90GB while the 20Mbps service has a 120GB cap. They were even more disappointed to learn that the data download caps are calculated on a daily basis. Consumers were further horrified to learn that if they exceeded their daily download limit, their high-speed broadband connections would be throttled down to about 10% of the purchased speed. Telekom Malaysia CEO Datuk Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa said at a press conference to announce the UniFi pricing yesterday that the measures were part of its Fair Usage Policy. “This policy is a standard industry practice to ensure that all subscribers get to enjoy the same web surfing quality,” he said. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak launched UniFi at the Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday night. This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Mar 26 2010, 10:30 AM |
