i think alot of ppl can settle for 5mbps speed but the cap and price makes it less attarctive. thats what the fuss is about

They should NOT force us to take IPTV. There should be an option to choose... not force it down our throats...i could care less about IPTV

The biggest about the cap isn't the monthly cap.

Its the DAILY CAP.
Apparently, if you're on the 5mbps package you'll have 60GB a month at that translates to 2GB a day.

Download any more than that, 1mbps you go.... or some say, 512kbps.

IPTV is basically television presented over the Internet, instead of being broadcast through the air. The benefits are the viewers can choose what they want to see and when.

For those who does not want cap usage, please sign up for business package......business package no cap but 5Mbps have to pay extra RM50.....

what will happen when cap is reached? cut 80% of the speed?

It's not,some else said it's on another dedicated 8MB line.So,you are getting a 8MB line dedicated for IPTV,and your subcried line for you normal usage.Do we even need IPTV???

These people are ubelievably stupid, assuming that IPTV can manage 24/7 non stop broadcasting. Why cant they get rid of that IPTV and give everyone a 8MB unlimited interenet?

If not,dont tell me the IPTV also lags when too many people is watching it.

i never said the price was right, i said there was a need to CAP. if there was no cap everyone is going to have turtle speed and you would be here crying again. so which is it you want?

TM is already pulling another cable to the US, you think a cable this long can be done in one day? even if you had the money it'd still take years to finish. it's just unfortunate they had to roll out HSBB when they don't have enough international bandwith to support it, which is why for now it needs to be capped.

i agree, no point of them rolling out high speeds if they are only targeting users who surf and check their e-mails, heck even streamyx lowest speed could accomplish that easily unless they are trying to squeeze all the unused bandwith they can get by these customers so they could make more profit selling them to other country while still get money from monthly subscription

If all the information is correct, then the worthy part from HSBB isnt the Download speed, but the Upload speed, if any1 noticed all ADSL package have very poor upload speed, mostly 384k, unless SDSL connection with is extremely expensive compare to ADSL, if this HSBB capable of providing promised upload speed, then this connection worth considering for ppl who want upload speed more than download speed, like hosting.

Let's move to UK..............    

Guys don't just complaint, MAKE SURE YOU COMPLAINT THE RIGHT THING.

Asking for unlimited bandwidth is IMPOSSIBLE.
TM won't let you D/U 6TB of data for RM249.

Instead, ask them at least double or triple the cap

PETALING JAYA: After the excitement of Telekom Malaysia unveiling UniFi, its high-speed broadband service that offers Internet speeds of up to 20 megabits per second (Mbps), the bubble burst for many consumers here.

Some are disappointed over what they feel are expensive charges for the packages for home users:

RM149 for 5Mbps

RM199 for 10Mbps

RM249 for 20Mbps.



In Singapore, a 1Gbps (gigabit per second) service – which is five times the speed of a 20Mbps connection – only costs about RM200.

But the real disappointment is the realisation that the UniFi packages have a cap on the amount of data that can be downloaded.

The consumers bristled when they learned that the 5Mbps service is capped at 60GB of data per month. The 10Mbps service is capped at 90GB while the 20Mbps service has a 120GB cap.

They were even more disappointed to learn that the data download caps are calculated on a daily basis.

Consumers were further horrified to learn that if they exceeded their daily download limit, their high-speed broadband connections would be throttled down to about 10% of the purchased speed.

Telekom Malaysia CEO Datuk Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa said at a press conference to announce the UniFi pricing yesterday that the measures were part of its Fair Usage Policy.

“This policy is a standard industry practice to ensure that all subscribers get to enjoy the same web surfing quality,” he said.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak launched UniFi at the Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday night.
