Oh, then wat u mean is "Why need Grid 2 when there is Dirt 3"...coz at ur previous post u say Grid 3, which is y i wonder how com no Grid 2, got Grid 3
i dun expect much from dirt 3, hope it can really be a 100% rally race instead of mixture...anyway, if there's a GRID 2, it will be nice |

FORMULA ONE OFFICIAL SITE I really hope this game as realistic as they promised, i adi quit F1 game for almost 3 years adi, last played was the rFactor 2005 mod, quit due to boring graphic engine and poor handling after that, and too much mod from different creators, make me confused. |

yeah but then again the ppl behind the mods are not ordinary people. Some can surprise you. Take the endurancers endurance mode for example. They have some the of the Epsilon Euskadi team members giving feedback on how the mod should feel

I supposed (and hoped) there is no lag in the steering wheel, do notice that the steering wheel used in event is simulating the real steering wheel used in F1 (see the turning angle) and the reaction in the game is set to a normal one which respond to the normal 240 degrees wheel (like black MOMO), so it might seems that there is a lag or delay of the steering wheel in the game. Adrian Sutil was playing the game for a few laps only so he probably not clear about the in-game setting, Anthony should have better picture for it.
As for the rFactor mod, I would say CTDP F1 2006 is the best of all the F1 mod, graphics and physics are top notch. Though now I have shift my attention to the FSONE 2009, which is a great mod as well, though LOD is badly done. This game is greatly made and for sure I will be buying it. |

Yes, but even IF there is an animation difference, even if you turn a bit on the steering wheel that you are using, the car will react accordingly. What Sutil was referring to was that. And since that is an Xbox version he was using, there is no way that would be a real F1 steering wheel. Well, one concern is will multiplayer face delay/lag issues since it all depends on the host and players can be from anywhere in the world.

The nearest to GFWL supported region is singapore. How does this effect us? Have not touched any games that has GFWL

Multiplayer is still locked *cough*copyisonlyunlockedonfriday*cough*.
anyways, first thing you need to do when playing the game is to turn off the Rapture sound driver. I am locked to 30FPS with that turned on. |

I agree with maranello, if you watch the Autosport video interview with Ant Davidson - he said that he dont want the game to be hard , but fun to drive.

nah, blergh as in there are quite a number of bugs. The pitstop for one. And the fact that many are bemoaning that they are getting FPS hits if they turned on the rapture 3D sound driver. I won't comment on physics since they are just reusing GRID. I am just being picky over everything else XD

hugely fun game, never once im so sucked in a game just to practice practice and practice
and the graphics is just beautiful, the track the atmosphere nicely made give a great overall feel just too bad alot of flaw and bugs here and there |

My 2 cents on da game
Visually d best. Cockpit sound yg mantap. External replay = GRID. External sound = OK la. Wet race = Visually da best. Wet racing with wet setup = easy peazy, no standing water, uniformly wet all over. Can attack curb, can brake late. Can full throttle. Racing ur own ghost is lots of fun. Although physics is arcady, driving it fast still requires u to push to the max and attack d apex, brake as late as possible and throttle in as early as possible. In time trial, the 'Invalidate Lap' and 'Invalidate Next lap' penalty is annoying at first when u put ur tyres off the track while racing (even 2 tyres of a chicane in low speed counted as chicane cutting, and it invalidate the current lap and the next lap as well) - It promotes clean racing and with practice, u can easily learn the limits of where u can and cannot attack. This game is alot of fun. The setup is tweakable (although no steering lock visible anywhere). I drive it with all aids off and its like driving an ace car - superb grip, max top speed, and excellent balance and handling - at least with the Ferrari F10. Track and car modelling - the best out there. Multiplayer options are well thought off. U can tweak almost everything including the weather but no view restriction like supress cockpit view only. kthxbai. I did update to the latest version la. Just downloaded from Logitech website this morning.
It worked by using custom mapping but it doesn't detect mine. It is simply too easy to have a spin out with pedal. Hmm |

usually at corners I lose the lead, and I wont be able to catch the AI, unless they slipped up(very low chance). Heavy Rain weather makes things worse D;

The car is simply too hard for me to driving in expert.
While I tried to make the same settings, expert with all aids off and hard with all aids off, I am almost 4 seconds slower in expert than hard in Sepang circuit. Expert is full sim? |

The tachometer is only represented in such simple way? Could it show real value, absolute max RPM etc? I barely shift after the red line but I'm getting hot engine status.
Can I choose to jump to certain tracks or must I complete the tracks one by one? When I turn on FFB for Logitech Momo Racing, the wheel is very heavy. Very hard to steer. Lol..  after pit,,,instead of settling number 3,,,i rempuh straight 2 the wall in high speed n quit the race but srsly i dont c the need of FLASHBACK man since rookie at most will go wide n stuck on the gravel while cornering unlike dirt where hitting the wall hard is very common |

I'm just curious how spot on they are with the Kiasuland track. In comparison to our track, which is in the middle of nowhere and hence does not require an awful of work to create, Kiasuland is chucked full of urban elements that need to be recreated accurately to appear convincing (being one who's been there many times, I can easily tell if Codemasters missed out a few details).

As long as they have the 'feel', i guess its acceptable. All the grandstands are there, Esplanade is there, the bridge is there, the sponsors billboards are there. For me thats enough. I beg to differ. The Sepang track in the game is quite accurate up the kerbings et al, whereas singapore feels a little too tight compared to the real thing. And as Mara said above, just put in some landmark and you are safe. I was on career mode, and it was qualy. The track is drying out and with 4 minutes left I lfet the pit. As I was midway though my first flying lap there was a gaggle of cars in front of me, including my teammate. he enters the pit as I crosses the line, and I ended up faster than him at 5th place.
Since it was still drying, I did another lap. As I approached the line, I noticed that to my amazement that he has now somehow leapfrogged me with a dry time. Thankfully I crossed the line exactly at 0.00 and started my final lap. I ended up 15th, finishing waaay below people that had pitted when i started my lap. Honestly while people do say that other games do have phantom times, they do not do it while the cars are still on track. in ISI based racing series for example, the phantom time only appears when you choose to skip the session. it will use the absolute time of the AI cars on the track even in fast forward mode kinda left me frustrated to race |

the engineer did warn me though. well, too much anticipation to put down a faster lap makes u 'forgot' the warning.
same goes with tyre degradation. qualify top ten but have to start the race with 80% tyre wear left. kinda spoil pit stop strategy.. |

I finally do a career mode in Bahrain.
The AI were too easy. Even in Legend mode, i smoke the whole field (started 6th after 5 grid penalty, was on pole) and finish 30 secs ahead of Alonso with one drive through. I was racing 50% half distance and overtook all not even half way that. Maybe I should start with Virgin instead. But no puncture this time....Maybe the puncture thing only appear few races into the career? Yeah...the engineer did warn XD |

i'm doing 7-year career though. start of with Lotus. now in race 11 dy. i know in real life the 3 newbies don't have much power as the midfielders or frontrunners, but do they have to make that realistic?
in qualify, can't go much higher than 10th, and at the race start, they'll smoke you until u r 16th. zzz~and dang today i ACCIDENTALLY extend my contract with Lotus. Alt-F4 is no use, already auto-saved. |

in next patch, if want to close F-duct, codemaster must map the button that requires players to have only one hand on the steering wheel. much more realistic.

hmm, I mapped my menu to the G25 D-Pad. Basically you have 4 buttons, Up, Down, Left, Right. Find these in the button config menu
In the race, press any of these buttons to bring up the menu, then up for Engine, right for Wings, and Down for Tyres. Press down, and you will see another menu. Up is Option, Right is Prime, Left is Inters, Down is wet. So if you want to use inters, you are likely to press Down (initial, any of the direction key but I prefer down), down, left |

Guys, using DFGT but no matter how many degrees I set, the rotation is always 180 degrees only, how to solve this?
Logitech profile specific game setting and global game setting also set 900 degrees (Just for testing) but it still remains at 180 |

in my 2nd season now. signed a new contract with mclaren. i replaced hamilton as a 2nd driver. my driver level is 16.
started off my 1st race with a 1st place win. i always skipped the practice and qualifying. kinda bored now but then again, i had a blast during my 1st season. im no f1 hardcore fan. use to watch the live racing on tv but not so anymore. know little about f1 and the game was way too hard for me at first time. got use to it after retrying about 20 or more times in a race just to finish in a good position. i still think that this is the best f1 game ive played and the best f1 game out there at the moment. |

I found it too hard to drive in expert mode. I just lapped after pitting. Once I got lapped, I no need to race because blue flag keeps coming in even though the cars are half a second away. |

i tried enabling dx11 through the .xml setting files and though it loads faster but it was filled with artifacts that i'd need to revert back to dx9...

Guise..I'm using my DS3 as the gamepad..but I notice the sensitivity is way darn high..it happened with previous Codemasters game..any idea how to fix this? =s

Not really sure. Codemasters won't let you change the sensitivity in game unless it's a wheel. Any 3rd party software to change it outside teh game?

i tried Bahrain GP few days ago.
I drove Lotus car, start at 23rd place. Just after 1st lap i adi up to 16th place. The strange thing was after i did the 1st pit stop, i drop to 23rd place and until the end of GP. My laps is consistent, how come huh? |

Guys, is there any way to configure the buttons on the wheel to wing adjustment straight away?
I want to press a button to be able to set the wing aero + or -, going through the quick menu ain't that quick when you're driving at 200-300kmph |

Just try to keep changing your aero adjustments and your engineer will tell you that you are given 2 adjustments per lap only. i don't think u can change it with just one button... I've tried searching for it too but there's no info on it.
Well, at least now I'm quite used to the button mappings for my wheel and toggling between the + and - wing settings is no longer a problem for me |
