About the Unigine Heaven, don't use the DX11 setting but DX9, DX10 with 1024x768 and no AA. See how it goes on the benchmark smile.gif

SPuNx,

Do you mind unscrewing the bottom and take a big/high res. pic. of the innards (under the cover), I'll like to know the slots available/components arrangement/access. Thanks

two screws...? and you'll be able to pop it off?......

And about exposing the exterior, forgive me for not having sufficient tools for it, although its just a small screw driver. tongue.gif
Can I get it at a hardware store? I'll try it tomorrow.
*
Take your time, no worries. the interior is somewhat important for me as it's like showing others how great your car's engine is tongue.gif . I've read the quick manual from web that there are more than 1 vent so clearing heat would be faster thumbup.gif .

The heat vents seem rather...small  tongue.gif  How's the temperature reading for your lappie?  Ordered mine on the 17th and the CS said it will arrive second week of april  shakehead.gif
*
That's their usual way to estimate as they add 1 more week to the actual delivery date to avoid any mishap happen. I've ordered my adapter last time and they gave me a 1 week later date, which they said it's a bit slow since it'll be send from Japan(Not sure it's true or not tongue.gif ) but I received it in 3 days, early morning in my office nod.gif .

only problem is that it's 17"... not everyone will want such large size... if it's 14" or 15" then it's a really good buy...

but wouldn't this compete directly with SXPS16???
*
Wouldn't think so as both display as a different car. One is a solid build with elegant design which also has a nice GC. While the other one would be less solid but with a smart/nerd design and still it possess a power to wow audience, with a lesser price tag nod.gif .

With that budget, I rather get a gaming desktop smile.gif but the design is really sleek on the sxps.

lolx, if u rather get a desktop..then u should not comment already...
no, laptop price can NEVER fight a desktop, that is as true as the sun rise from east... tongue.gif  tongue.gif

Asus, if manage probably...i trust it will not only expand,
it will Dominate...
*
I'm OK when price around 2K-3K++ for a lappy, but 4k onwards is a bit off for me so would just settle a gaming desktop rather a lappy IMHO smile.gif

i think it really depends on wat u use for...

for a student who needs to go overseas like me, rm5k imho is still consider ok...

if not, i guess i would juz grab a desktop straight away instead...
*
Yea, correct. Different purpose different preference. I'm a working class and for now portability is not my concern atm. Unless I need to travel a lot to do business, it's better to settle w/ desktop when price is 4k above nod.gif

Upgrading from 4GB to 6GB already cost RM4xx, HDD you need to talk to the SA. If you really interested, just call Dell rather than asking questions which we can't answer.

Minor updates from me:

The dell vostro 3700 can last for not more than 4 hours of light usage. Went out just now and got my new 17' inch laptop beg that fit well. smile.gif

Nice to hear that smile.gif I'm still questioning myself to get a backpack... or getting the 4GB stick 1st...haha tongue.gif

UPDATE: All Dell 3700 buyers who purchased their units from 18th March onwards(not sure about members who bought it earlier) will need to wait for a period of 1 month(estimated end of April) to complete their builds and delivery. So do update with your SA to see if you want a refund or willing to wait.

Sad news indeed. I just received the call from the Dell that due to the LED screen part shortage, later buyers(including mine cry.gif ) will need to wait for the next shipment of parts which might arrive around 22nd April, means you'll be getting your unit by the end of month.

Well, that's kinda normal for Dell..at least they tell us that the delivery will be delayed instead of making their customer waiting..can even do refund nod.gif

Yea... which means I might have to change my mind to get another lappy....with HD5650?? tongue.gif Let's see...

i ordered mine on 23 march,  and i checked  the order status on dell website , it says mine is in stage 4. shipped from factory
what does your order status indicates?
*
I really don't know because my status haven't change since Day 1. After requested a call back, that's the news they gave me today so I think it might affect other buyers later than me. Unless its because of color selection too then I have no answer... rclxub.gif

Was hoping my dream 17 inch multitask notebook will arrive on time... sad.gif Anyhow, I've went around lowyat with some of the nice specs within my budget and I think I'll be getting the Lenovo Y460 since it has power specs and I usually hook up my laptop to the 22 inch LCD so the 14 inch Y460 is still ok(just no numpad....).

My dad's having doubts about asus cuz he havent heard about the brand b4  sweat.gif  Ill try to convince him. Haha
*
Maybe you can convince him with a "IBM" laptop, hehe. Only lack on Y460 is the USB 3.0 and screen reso. Warranty you can upgrade, N82jv hasn't arrive yet, JBL speakers on Y460(if you do care, hehe) and you can get it now. nod.gif

Convince him with this reliability chart from SquareTrade ^_____^

It'll do the trick on your dad mostly. But for tech guys, you'll know the last 4 companies(except Gateway) have been selling more laptops than the top 4, hence more faulty rate smile.gif.

So, If I order today, I prolly needed to wait for a month?

Well, you've seen the page has already written estimate 3-4 weeks and it's still pre-order stage so if you can wait for it then it'll be OK. If not, then might as well look for other options.
