I think even the newer models from Acer also won't be available in bulk? So in the end still have to wait and the waiting game goes on and on and on haha

QUOTE(ReaperOfSoul @ Mar 31 2010, 08:50 PM) Got a reply from my SA. He said my order is affected by the delay If the N82Jv is in within your budget and you want a moderately high gaming machine. I would say, by all means, cancel it hahaha Its smaller, lighter and has better specs but at the expense of extra cash la The only prob I think you will have is that the N82Jv would be very popular and maybe need to order or wait oo If its me, I would opt for the N82J This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Mar 31 2010, 09:03 PM |

QUOTE(ReaperOfSoul @ Mar 31 2010, 09:08 PM) My parents dont mind paying the extra money to get a better spec'd laptop so that it will last me for a long time Not sure on the refunding mechanism though...But don't worry about ASUS and DELL quality, both are very good and reliable ^____^ |

QUOTE(jotaro12 @ Mar 31 2010, 09:52 PM) It'll do the trick on your dad mostly. But for tech guys, you'll know the last 4 companies(except Gateway) have been selling more laptops than the top 4, hence more faulty rate The charts shows malfunction rates which is in percentage so I don't think the the amount of laptops sold will affect the overall results. That's what I think la Company X sells 10 laptops, 1 out of 10 is faulty = 10% faulty Company Y sells 1,000,000 laptops, 1,00,000 out of 1,000,000 faulty = also 10% faulty I may be wrong though The only thing I am doubtful of the results is HP. Perhaps because of taking Compaqs into account which is why HP came last I kind of like HP T____T This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Mar 31 2010, 10:11 PM |

QUOTE(jotaro12 @ Mar 31 2010, 10:09 PM) You might be right on the percentage count, but I'm not sure the result it's for US only or international. Of course they'll add Compaq since it's under their hood, hehe Hmm, more samples would actually be required for more accurate and reliable results Poor HP Pavillions, they need some justice haha |

The built quality is bad? In what sense?
Do they bend easily under pressure? Wah, 2x keyboard protector ar? How much did you get for 1? They are usually quite expensive |

QUOTE(jotaro12 @ Apr 1 2010, 09:42 PM) True... But some people do have their choice to stop and get another option/opinion. I'll be getting Lenovo Y460 by next week, with i5 540M, 4GB D3, 500GB HDD, Win 7 HP 64bit and 1GB HD5650. Really looking forward to see the benchmark if I tune the profile to performance and with some tweak to change GC to a HD5730... Yaya 1 month is actually a bit too long to wait.... And why not get something which is on par or even better? hehe! Well in the end the choice is in your hands Grats 1st on your new lappy, do let us know how it performs~ I'm quite interested in the Y460 too |

QUOTE(Zaita @ Apr 1 2010, 09:43 PM) not very expensive la, some more its for long term one + protect ur laptop quality Yaya, agreed, its for long term~ How much was it?the built quality is good, material is 50% good in terms of handling pressure + feel cold if got air con coz its silver one. But it cant tahan our finger/ hand sweat lol Will the skin prevent heat from being dissipated? Vostro shouldn't be too bad in built quality~ "cant tahan our finter/ hand sweat" meaning the material will corrode? OMG.... my old M100 was like that, the whole skin got corroded and became very very ugly Which is why matte and glossy surface are a little bit better even though the matte doesn't look nice whereas the glossy collects fingerprints eagerly T____T |

QUOTE(Zaita @ Apr 1 2010, 10:22 PM) That is why i bought 2 universal keypad protector just for redesiging and cut the shape according to the size of keypad. WOW, you really put in a lot of effort to take care of your lappy, U deserved my respect Not very expensvie, RM100 enough to cover it already. The beg pack was Rm180 brand High Sierra one. The 17.3 laptop skin does not exist in my area at least...but 2 pieces of laptop skins plus some hard work should be fine one. Hmm...my arts isnt good so lol I wont take my own one picture as it was too ugly to show it in the public. may be some laugh from friends is fine for me lol. to [PF] T.J. : Its true, thats the reason i went straigth to the pc shop just to look for the protectors. Let them laugh, you will be the one with the last laugh since your lappy would most probably last the longest hehe Added on April 1, 2010, 11:00 pm QUOTE(jotaro12 @ Apr 1 2010, 10:51 PM) From what I've known some retailers don't take Dell business class laptops like Vostro or Latitude series(not sure it's policy or no buyers...) They only have home series laptops like inspiron, mini, studio, SXPS and alienware bcoz of their relatively attractive designs. I wonder why they don't take Vostro.... they are quite nice in their own way But wouldn't it be best to buy online so can also have warranty O___O This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Apr 1 2010, 11:00 PM |

QUOTE(SPuNx @ Apr 2 2010, 03:42 AM) I think the quality is good, if you expect it to be extra durable and rough, it wouldn't be a laptop. The important thing is to take good care of your laptop to optimize and preserve it for longer usage. Which Zaita is setting a fine example. I really do think the little things like that make a big difference. The only issue for me now is investment needed for it. Am planning to protect and preserve my laptop with any possible means. So far all I've got is my decent bag, which will have to do for now. Lenovo's ThinkPads are extra durable and rough +1 to Zaita! I'd love to see you post pictures of it so I can get a fine example. Agree with you, it depends on to what extend are we willing to take care of our lappies Added on April 2, 2010, 7:18 pm QUOTE(Zaita @ Apr 2 2010, 01:34 PM) As requested~ i hope you guys can get some idea about it thx.. If I'm seeing correctly, you've actually sticked 2 tapes on the touchpad buttons right? Actually that's a very good idea, I did that on my previous M100 too. The only bad thing is that dust/ sweat- materials (laki?) will tend to accumulate on the sides of tapes which make cleaning necessary~![]() the second pic is just part of the whole covered laptop. there are some more around the mouse pad but the pic isnt clear as expected. so bear with it thx lol ![]() sry for the small size, coz i was using mobile broadband to online now so... Well, everything has its pros and cons though haha~ Very good effort bro, if only everyone loves their laptop as much as you This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Apr 2 2010, 07:18 PM |
