Does anyone find the lack of a key on the keyboard (usually a back arrow) to move the cursor back without deleting the letters a major drawback?  I think such a key would be useful when editing long message which tends to be error-prone.

ahaha, actually thats my only complain, it's hard to select the "error" spot to delete when u type a long sentence. Because capacitive screen means u can only touch with your entire finger and can't accurately pinpoint the location you want with fingernail. Most of the time i need to press a few times to get to the place that i want, or i need to zoom until big big so i can press without mistake tongue.gif However, a back arrow (not back space) button will be good.

btw, i think somebody who are creative should volunteeer to create a more beautiful and informative first page with features, firmware updates tracking, custom rom tracking, more screenshots, recommended apps, special info etc etc to make it looks much prettier and attractive, isnt it? tongue.gif Right now, it's kinda dull for such a popular phone thread.

Hi all GS users!

Has been used this phone more then 2 weeks. I need some clarify from you guys. Is regarding the battery life.

My usage,
1) All time sync facebook(15min), twitter(15min), email/hotmail & gmail(30min)
2) Never disable APN, all time on 2G, 3G or HSPDA (depend on area)
3) 1 day around 5 calls (not more that 15min) and 10 sms+mms
4) Moderate usage on post comments, twittering, reply email, downloading apps and googling website.
5) Desktop with static wallpaper, auto brightness adjust, fancy widget snyc weather, live feed for facebook and twitter.

So base on above usage, my GS battery life only can last for about 7 hour++ only. Is this consider normal?
Becasue I feel that my battery life is too short.  sad.gif  sad.gif  cry.gif

How about your guys? Should I goto Maxis replace a new battery?

im thinking to get the silicon case instead. but i don't really like an idea of case lah, since my first phone i dont use case at all, only put it on cloth pouch. i like to hold a naked phone. hehe, also silicon case will make the phone become bulky.

I just found out that you can turn the qwerty keyboard into directional keypad to correct your error, just hold the symbol change button "?123" and it'll change to editing mode. You will get copy/cut/paste and directional button in editing mode. Only works in Samsung Keypad mode though, not available with Swype.

I found out something at this site

http://cgi.ebay.com/2X-BATTERY-AC-DOCK-CHA...=item335ed14098

1) 2pcs extra battery (so total you got 3pcs battery)
2) 1 unit docking charger

Selling with AUD16.99 (RM47.6) free shipping somemore!!! brows.gif

Note : You need an extra univesal adapter to fit this docking charger to our Malaysia power point. (Photo show that is Australia point)

1 battery around 6hours, so total you got 18hours to play your SGS!!! brows.gif  brows.gif

SO DARE TO USE REPLICA BATTERY???? whistling.gif

my sgs seems to be charging real sloooooow... how fast does u guy charge from 10% to full ? mine like 1 hour liao 36% only... !? and is the connection strong ? my maxis line here keep switching to GPS and HSDPA only 1 bar. wangsa maju area...

The charger is a low rated charger of 700mA, will need about 2.5-3 hours, from zero to full. USB will take about 4 hours. Dunno if there's fast charger like nokia one or not, like those at 1000mA. Because that's what the phone is rated to take.

JG5 firmware is having rave reviews, i might jump on to the bandwagon later tonight.

That plus the SDcard lag fix gave the samsung a massive boost. Check out the screenshot one of them provided.

just an old nokia bundled 2gb class 2. according to multiple test, the class of the card does not affect the result at all. my result perform slightly higher than somebody with a class 6 card. so not really necessary to buy a higher class card if u already own an existing one
