seriously they want to match the light in the plane as close to outside as possible so your eye dont need time to adjust if there emergency and you need to run for your life. like night landing they will dim the light in the cabin so that if the plane crash, you will be able to find you way out of the plane ASAP not waiting for you eye to adjust the aperture.
