Check it out at redhat's website. I think they have a centre in Singapore where you can attend a course and sit for exams there.

IMHO, Linux usage in Malaysia is quite small. Most corporate servers/systems are in Windows system. So, i personally think MSCE has a wider job market than RHCE.

The job market is saturated with MSCE cert holders.

CODE

#!/usr/bin/perl -w
sub certificate_value
{
 my ($cert) = @_;
 my $value = "";

   if (demand_of($cert) < supply_of($cert)) {
     $value = "low";
   }
   elsif (demand_of($cert) > supply_of($cert)) {
     $value = "high";
   }
   else { $value = "equilibrium"; }

   return $value;
}

foreach my $c ("MSCE", "RHCT", "RHCE") {
 certificate_value($c);
}

made a booboo in the above post. as of march 05 2005, csn systems is no longer the official red hat training partner.

Rizal,

Thank you for your enquiry. CSN contract with Red Hat expired on March 5
2005.
Therefore you have to contact Red Hat for alternative authorized
training partner.

Tanya,

Please help Rizal with the Red Hat training course schedule.

Consider getting LPIC Level 1 before attempting RHCT or RHCE. Lower cost alternative to firm up the foundation.

Most RHCT and RHCE exams are taken on the last day of the course of 4 days. Readiness for the exam is a question, given so short a training.

you mean like taking LPIC level one one week before taking RHCE? if the person is just taking level 1 LPIC, i don't think he's about to embark on RHCE/T unless he has mountains of money to burn and has such thick a face to face the examiners repeatedly.

people taking RHCE/T have used Red Hat prior to taking its courses. no one will be crazy enough to take training and exam without attempting to get familiar with the OS. RHCE is not a paper exam, bear that in mind that it's a nearly a day lab exam and the only way you can pass the exam is by using the OS day in day out. training is just a way to catch up on important notes.

yes, i am a sceptic on LPIC. right now, LPIC doesn't really boost credentials of its holders at least in a way RHCE/T do.
