I had a really bad with my acer laptop (overheating, motherboard broken two times, charger broken two times). Is there any improvement in this new design?

may i know how to save dvd movie file in to thumbdrive or HD, becoz i am the movie crazy, can watch 6 hours continuous a day. I afraid the dvd rom get demage fast. Can advise me on this?
