for example i5-460M-2.53GHz (Turbo up to 2.8), the speed really can boost up to 2.8? without any manual settings?
*
Yes, it will boost to 2.8GHz, but that's only 1 core, not 2 cores..
and its automatic, you cannot control the boost, it will decide its own basing on apps and load and temperature...

It got better GPU than those two, and after upgrade to 3 years onsite warranty, total at RM2519....

Depends which i5 you are talking, some can boost extra 0.4GHz...
Noticeable or not, back to your usage..
If just browsing and such, i3 or even P6x00 is enough....

if normally playing and starcraft 2? i3 more than enuf?

If you do not demand much, i3 is fine....
back to your GPU since that's the one bottleneck first for gaming...

can.. BUT i3 is weak processor. usually weak processor mostly will be pair with integrated graphic chipset or low end GPU.

so if you are keen toward gaming, better put GPU as your first priority.

/exceptional goes to Alienware M11x tongue.gif

i know 4820tg is good just that if i wan to do it with 3 years warranty then it will cost me around 2.8k

1) Asus A42jc - RM2499 - 2 years warranty
2) Acer 4785G - 5464G50 - RM2299 3 years local warranty...
*
the correct model name = Acer Aspire AS4738G-464G50 Core i5-460M/4GB RAM/500GB HDD/DVDRW/14"/ATI HD5470(512MB)/W7HP/3 Years Warranty@RM2299

since you mention your budget cannot exceed rm2500 and the notebook have to come with 3 years warranty, that is the only model.
the specification is enough for your usage

Guys , I want to get a 14' gaming laptop that I can buy within budget max rm1.6k. So far the laptop that fit my budget I think is Asus A42JE-VX244 (the price I can find is RM1528 in LYN garage sale)

P6100 , 1GB DDR3 , 5470 512VRAM biggrin.gif , 320GB , 2 years warranty , freedos

Reason I choose this model because of the 5470 and 2 years warranty. I think this model gives more bang for the buck than Fujitsu LH520 . Any opinion/recommend? Thanks.

I thinking to add 1GB DDR3 ram (cost RM80) cos I realize nowadays games need at least 2GB ram . Is this price normal? Thanks.
