For our medical card, we will cover. We don't exclude the illness which be claim on previous year. There's a clause which stated clearly in our contract.

For new entry, we don't cover pre-existing illness.

Dear Brother Nick,

I am interested in the Gold Plan.

However, I am kind of worried that coverage for outpatient cancer/kidney treatment is limited to RM40k.

Is there any way to increase coverage for these two ailments, particularly cancer? Or any cheap cancer protection plan, whether from Axa Life or elsewhere?
For our medical card, we will cover. We  don't exclude the illness which be claim on previous year. There's a clause which stated clearly in our contract.

For new entry, we don't cover pre-existing illness.

How many times can claim for the same illness, eg: heart attack in year 2010 & claimed, but in year 2011 happen again, still can claim? Will AXA terminate the policy?

Its beeen ages since anyone asked questions on insurance and I am mighty glad you did!

In terms of medical claims you can only claim up to the maximum amount of the bill no matter how many medical card you may have. For example if the bill was RM 100k and the maximum annual limit from card A that you can claim is RM 60K, you can claim another RM40K from the second card.

However, if the bill was RM100K, you cant claim RM200K (even if you have 2 cards with Rm100k limit each).

Its like your credit card, more may give you higher purchase in case one is maxed but then again comes the issue of maintening it.

Female care benefit are mostly separate plan or rider that covers early staging etc. Most of them pays certain percentage upon diagnosis eg 30% of the sum insured.

Mind pm me your email address and occupation for me to sent to you the quotes and brochures. We cant sent quotes in LYN.

Creating Awareness & Warnings not to be Ignored when purchasing a Medical Card Insurance Plan!

Do you know that nearly 90% of Malaysians are clueless on the types of policies they have bought over the years. They have been paying for the policies with assumption that it will pay them in full no matter what their claims are without understanding the underlying limitations! And most of them not even know what are they paying for. Common reason of Malaysian buying policies is mainly because the agent is their friends, family etc. and some even bought the policy based on the branding and marketing "claims" that it's the No.1 insurance company in Malaysia. Please be noted that branding of the insurance company won't help you at all! What matters the most is in your policy documents! Most people won't even bother to read the term and condition clearly but just blindly listen to the agent! Different medical plans in Malaysia have different limitation! There's no such thing as all medical insurance are the same!!

If you already have policies, please get them reviewed and I promise you will get the shock of your life!!! Make a choice to understand the limitations of your policies before its too late! Don't just sit and get quotation thru email for comparison in premium cost and investment return but sit down with financial advisor who can help you and assist you in choosing the best medical plan based on your needs, budget and how to avoid costly mistakes.

The most crucial aspect of claiming is what documented in your policy document, you need to understand the fine prints, black and white! You need to know how to avoid and save yourself from burning ship before its too late! Because health changes overnight!!!

An experienced agent would have done many hospitalisation claims for his/her clients over the years. Through the experience, one can tell what it gonna work for you & what can be the biggest financial cost of your life!!

If you have a choice to choose:

1. Which one is the smarter choice?

A) Company A pays 90% of your Medical Bills- 10% Co Insurance borne by policy holder

B) Company B pays 100% of your Medical Bills fully

2) Are you aware of the difference between Inpatient Hospitalization & Outpatient Treatment in your policy? Why is it separated in your Medical Schedule of Benefits?

3) What are the limitations in your policy Vs the Actual Cost of Hospital Bills in Malaysia

Actuaries are highly trained individuals with such intelligence to determine the risk factor before getting a plan approved by Bank Negara.
Do not just take the word of an agent verbally, but always look at the fine prints black&white, and the Cost of Insurance chart in the policy documents- understand the pros and cons clearly before you make any Costly Mistakes especially during Hospital Claim!

**Please take note- this is mainly to create awareness for malaysians to Make A Smart decision before its too late!!

Do contact me if u need in depth understanding in helping you make that WISE decision before purchasing a medical policy.
No obligation at all! You don't wanna miss this opportunity!

You'll be amazed,Yes!

Thanking you.

Apart than 10% co-insurance and limit of inpatient, outpatient treatment (cancer/kidney dialysis),
Perhaps shall look into the co-payment/exceed room & board, cost of insurance and total lifetime limit?

In fact some may even put into account of blacklisted doctor of the particular insurer, home nursing care and emergency accident outpatient treatment

Kindly correct me if I'm wrong

Pai seh :-)

If you have 2 medical cars, you cannot claim illness from both cards. You got to choose 1 card only for 1 type of sickness/claim. Advantage of having more than 1 MC is in case claim exceed annual limit of 1st card, you may prompt to use the 2nd card to cover the remaining claim.

As for life insurance, you can get benefit from both of cards. TPD and illness claim, only from 1 card.

I would like to seek opinion.

I have 2 medical cards now. 1 is from Prudential and the other 1 is from Great Eastern.

I would like to cancel 1 of the cards but not sure which one to cancel as both cards have the advantages and disadvantages as followings:

[cool.gifPrudential - Advantage
1. Pay 100% of the bills

Prudential - Disadvantage1. There are exclusion clauses on my previous illnesses

Great Eastern - Advantage
1. No exclusion clause

Great Eastern - Disadvantage
1. It is co-takaful, hence I need to pay some small portion (max RM1000) everytime I use the card.

The coverage is about the same for both cards.

I have used Prudential Medical Card many years ago and had no problem in making claims.

Although there is no exclusion clause in Great Eastern Medical Card, I am worry if I would encounter any problem in making claims in future.

I would appreciate if very much if someone knowledgeable out there could give me a good advice on which card to keep.

Thank you so much in advance.

HOW TO AVOID MAKING MAJOR FINANCIAL MISTAKES WHEN BUYING AN INSURANCE & MEDICAL POLICY!!!!

HOW TO INCREASE YOUR LIFE INSURANCE & MEDICAL COVERAGE WITHOUT INCREASING YOUR BUDGET/PREMIUM?

Many Malaysians go to work daily with many concerns in their mind. The most crucial fear is
"what if an accident or critical illness strikes.....
What if I loose my income?"

1) Housing Loans / Car Loans / Debts ???
Do I have enough insurance coverage to settle off my outstanding housing loans if I am diagnosed with critical illness?
Does my MRTA policy which only covers Death/TPD settles off my housing loans if I am diagnosed with critical illness?

2) Do I have enough money for my kids's education fund if I loose my income due to illness?

3) How is my spouse going to pay off all my outstanding mortgage loans, car loans, debts and monthly living expenses ?

2) INCREASING MEDICAL COST? How Much Is Enough??

Currently, Malaysians will need a minimum of RM300,000 annually for medical cost if diagnosed with critical illness. Medical cost in private hospitals will keep increasing in an alarmingly rate for the next few years!!!

Critical time bomb issues to look out for......

How much is my Annual Limit with my Company's & personal medical insurance?

Do I have to pay with my own money if it exceeds the Annual Limit?

Do I have to pay any Co-insurance?

Will my medical bills be paid in full by my company's medical insurance?

Will my insurance company pay for all my Take Home Drugs for Out-patient Cancer Treatment?

How can I find solutions to all the concerns above without increasing my budget?

Call me at 012-223 1841 or email at jazzz_jj@yahoo.co.uk to set an appointment.
I'll do a review of all your existing policies and to improve on it without increasing your budget.

Canceling a policy is not encourage at all, what you can do is combine they all in one policy, this is much more safe and save for you.

How to make a wise choice when buying a Medical Insurance Plan in Malaysia & Singapore.....

As of recent years, we have been hearing insurance agents promote extensively about the "No Life Time Limit " Medical Plan.

Many get excited with this buzz without understanding the main financial headache that policy holders are gonna face when they are diagnosed with major critical illness.

Now, question.......

1) Does the No Lifetime Limit medical plan has an Annual Limit?

--- If the medical plan has an Annual Limit of RM50k p.a, what happens if policy holder is diagnosed with a major medical condition and the medical bill cost him about RM150k within that year?

-----Will his insurance company pay RM150k or just RM50k according to his Annual Limit?
------Can the policy holder claim from his No Lifetime Limit Medical Fund to pay the balance outstanding bill of RM100k within that year?

2) What is not covered in your Outpatient Cancer Treatment?

Are you aware that there is a crucial clause in most of the policy contract that states that chemotherapy and radiotherapy is covered BUT ........ "EXCLUDED"
TAKE HOME DRUGS, DIAGNOSTIC TEST and CONSULTATION??

Medication for cancer treatment as of 2014, can cost nearly RM5k per month! If this medications which is the "Take Home Drugs" excluded meaning not claimable, this can cause a major financial burden for the entire family as most cancer patients are dependable on this life long medications!

Therefore, before deciding to buy a medical insurance plan, I will highly suggest that you make an effort to sit down and understand the crucial wordings on the proposal policy contract.

And For those who have already purchased medical policies for you and family which you have taken many years ago, its high time that you make time to review those policy contract and the clauses before any changes to your medical condition.

Many policy holders have been caught off guard when they make major medical claims and discover that they have to end up paying much more!!!!

Another important point to take note, do make sure that your medical plan covers your coverage for medical treatment in Singapore through out the year according the reasonable medical rate in Singapore!!!!! Make sure there is no 90 days limit because majority of medical plans in Malaysia only covers Singapore within 90days and reimburse according to the standard Medical rate in Malaysia.

My intention is to create awareness to our fellow Malaysians as they deserve to know their rights as policy holders in understanding their policy contract better so that none get caught in financial shock due to major unforeseen medical claims!

I've been in the Insurance industry for 14 years now and have been helping my clients
to handle major claims successfully thus also warning other policy holders of the crucial clauses before it's too late.

Feel free to contact me if you need more details pertaining to this matters. I am more than glad to help you understand your policies better and avoid major financial mistake before it's too late.

Thanking you.

Cheers,
