Just a wild idea. Would a Mcdonald or any fast food joint type or REIT be successful considering Mcdonald main aim is land banking in expensive area

doh.gif I think you are confused what a REIT is. Mc Donalds is a business, their primary income is from selling you burgers, not gaining rent or capital appreciation from the property.  doh.gif

Oh well, Further research has shown that McD did consider REIT as an option but ruled it out. A pity though

90% is true. The yielding is low due to the IPO price is bit higher, I wish the market would make adjustment itself.

I guess there is  a way that Mcdonald's listing in REITs, provided all properties run as Mcd belong to Golden Arches. Then they may list it like KPJ. Can anyone confirm the vendors of those properties ? I know KFC is renting shops for business, but Mcd I haven't heard.

Be advised that sunway IPO price have came down to 0.88 per share . If and only If profit didnt change. Expect to receive 7.6% dividend based on entry price

Regarding that question. McD in america actually buy and then rent out those units to franchisee. They are actually not in the business of making burger as mentioned by former CFO. They only sell burger because it enable the franchisee to pay the rent to MCD doh.gif

What type of surprise are you expecting?  tongue.gif

I am quite surprise that the price still can maintain around 88 cents since its yield are much more lower compare with other reits.

Personally, i prefer capital mall trust than sunreit.

Do be informed that if profit remain the same, Then price to dividend yield would be on par with other reit wink.gif

Thanks for recommendation. I was Googling specifically for REITs in Malaysia. Maybe I should try REIT in general first.
Thanks for the link. Just to get things right, REIT can be purchased from online stock trading services offered by banks? Do you guys have a mentor of some sort when you get started?

Its online traded. No you don't need a guide, Infact if you did have access to the EDGE 2 weeks ago, They did a comparison on which REIT will pay out highest based on estimated dividend / price ratio. If not,go buy personal money magazine at popular newsstand and last page there got historic performance of REIT

Is that blog trustworthy?

IT list AL-aqar KPJ under Plantation sector,
BTW Teddy Bro, Are you starting out small like 1-5 lots at a time? If yes then do note the brokerage charges as it will decide how many rounds of dividend you need to cover back brokerage charge

O.T abit,I see the witholding tax for Resident Companies = 0% ; Subject to Corporate Tax at Prevailing Rate.

Is there a way for us to take advantage like registering a bussiness to buy into REIT?

Maybe a method to manipulate? Like if there is a net loss then there shouldnt be tax because there is no profit.

I'd like to know more as if its possible to bend the rules, i will certainly use my company to invest in REIT
