hi,

my bathroom is not big enough for the things i want to put (bathtub, basin, wc)

but that is assuming the bathroom door open inwards

if it open outwards, the space enough

my questions are

1) got any problem if bathroom door open outwards ?
2) are there any other solutions to this ?

P.S. i don't like those pvc type of door that when you open it, will be folded into many small partition

thanks in advance

get those that only folds into 2 parts. looks better and it's stronger too. I'm using that in my house.

of course thrs nth wrong with opening outwards other than the water drops on the door will be dripping down to the area outside of the bathroom. u would have to modify the door hinge and the height of the door assuming it is hanging lower than the bathroom's drop. the other solution though is to reconfigure the layout.

been up on an ATR plane before? MASWINGS and FIREFLY is using it

if you do, go up to the toilet at the back and see how ingenious and space saving the "half-swing-type" compact door is

there is nothing wrong with door open outwards, just make sure the door frame is "double rebate" type, mean both side of the frame can be install door. Its a very minor issue.

If you don't like pvc door, you can always opt for plywood flushdoor with one side of the door cover from top to bottom with zink and the other side of the door painted up with your favourite color. Or if you are creative you can attach a long picture to the plywood door to make the door look "invisible".

something like this http://www.buildeazy.com/newplans/playhous...door_frame.html you will see it indicated as "rebate", tat one both inside and outside of the door should have.

We had to install an extra door for the bathroom...and decided to go for bi-fold doors...that folds into half. The frame is aluminum. Pretty good i say.

Unless u wanna install the "slide-and-fold door"....my designer showed it to me once. loved it. not sure what the name was. Half the door slides to one side and the other is folded. hmmmm...don make sense huh.

Have you tried french door type? I am using that for my bathroom door. The door is basically divided into 2 panels, can choose to open in or out.

I dont think they are tempered glass, just normal glass of 200mmx2100mm inside the door panel (surrounding door panel is 3 inch thick on all 4 sides).

solid door prices vary depend on the size, model, grade, wood species, accessories use and also grade.
