Hi guys, have u guys ever experience something like jerk/lagging while playing some 1080p .mkv files???

ive recently gotten into 1080 .mkv HD movies, i have to say the quality out of most of the mkv files are the best for me.
But recently, i dont know is it because of the file i've downloaded or something, but when i play the movie, it somehow jerk/lag at a certain part of the movie for 1-2 seconds jerking/lagging.(when i repeated the lagged scene with different media players, sometimes is stil laggs at the same scene[lines appear n stuff], but other media player like media player classic do cut down the lag, but not everytime; as it still laggs at that scene)

May i ask does anyone experience these kind of situations? Whats the cause of this problem? Is is the media player im using, is not fast enough to cope up with the mkv file?? or is it someting got to do with my pc? graphic card/sound card all should be working just fine....hmmss?

What type of HD 1080p movies are currently the best recommended to download? by using what media player?

I experience it before.
Update your player or use other player to play.

Try K-Lite Codec Pack + Media Player Classic + Coreavc
Works for my 2 year old laptop that doesn't even use graphic card to play 1080p files nicely

Try using CoreAVC to decode those mkv.
If it still lags, high probability if your PC being too slow.

What is your PC's specifications ?

What's your version of the C2D? And mobo spec?
Ya VLC is not so good any more. Have you try using WINDOW MEDIA PLAYER 11 or the latest WMP for your OS?

If your notebook/Desktop dun hv reaonable good GUI card forget about it. I payed using my notebook 9Acer 4736 wth Win7 rating of 34..sure jerking. In my desktop wth GUI Card rating of 54, better but still abit lagging..

i think it's about time to invest in any proper media player such as those Sigma (like WDlive) or realtek (AC Ryan/Mede8er/xtreamer)..I bet no moe jerking after this

it should not be your pc spec....
it's the combination of codecs, media spliter, renderer.... best with DXVA.

my lowly amd x2 with integrated ati HD3200 ain't have problems. even with out DXVA....

try stand alone WMP classic codec with haali media spliter, running fine even with WMP (enhance rerderer). no reason for it not to run smoothly.

at last, check your graphic card driver, try different version. newest does not mean better.

When you not playing, try monitor CPU usage and ram.. Some antivirus might interfere with ur file.. Can't imagine this antivirus check 10GB+ or even 20GB file.

Also make sure unused application is closed.. You PC already powerful, mine 5 years old HTPC still doing fine even with 25GB mkv file.

base on your spec, the DXVA should kick in. even if it's not, it's a decent pc that should play the video smoothly. i suspect it's just the codec/software combination.
please show us the mediainfo for that mkv video file. we need to know the bitrate.
