Argh! I'm being torment by wondering which of this 2 lens to buy... "Nikon 85mm f/3.5G ED AF-S VR DX Micro Nikkor" or "Nikon 50mm f/1.4G AF-S Auto Focus Nikkor" Keep thinking last night till lack of sleep. So now i'm all grumpy and sleepy. Ugh...

QUOTE(noobie1 @ Apr 23 2010, 10:02 AM) D90 lor. Quite a few of ppl say its good for portrait shots and with the low aperture can do low light shots as well. And dont have to stand too far away in tight places... I seriously still a newbie on this so i dont undestand much. |

QUOTE(noobie1 @ Apr 23 2010, 10:18 AM) if u are using D90, then no need for the 50mm 1.4G, 50mm 1.4D is enough..price around 1k++ way more cheaper than then 50mm 1.4G Thanks for the suggestion. I heard that G has a aperture ring, mind if i ask what is that for ?if wan do low light shot, then i think only the 50mm suitable as it was 1.4 while the 85mm is 3.5...for me,3.5 is just hard to do low light shot, maybe just my skill not enough..just my opinion thou... Added on April 23, 2010, 10:26 amAnd does all nikon lens with international warranty ? This post has been edited by C_Sagi: Apr 23 2010, 10:26 AM |

QUOTE(zio @ Apr 23 2010, 10:33 AM) G does not have an aperture ring. The D version has it. If you intend to use the same lens on a film body, then you need the aperture ring. Else it is for aesthetic purposes Think i need to research more on this. Freaking thing cost a lot to be a mistake once bought. Thanks, thanks. I know the D is cheaper and the D90 can use it, but the AF-S version focuses faster and it is sharper at f1.4 than the D version. Wide open on the D version is rather soft if you ask me. |

Shashinki always sell a little bit higher than local price so I always use it as my guide line and never get anything above their price.

No wonder some ppl say they prefer the old model VR1 than VR2 and I was wondering why all this time.
