Tried it, still have that problem. At wits end now sad.gif. It happens to SRT subs as well, I tried xbmc 9.1 and still got the same issue. Boxee wouldn't even play the video at all!

I'm using Win XP Pro, any idea how to install Windows Media Center without reinstalling/reformatting Window Media Center Edition?

You means all your mkvs give sub problem? Try check your directVobSub settings. A lot of things your can configure a sub right there

I think the problem came from ur sound/video codec, can u list down ur HTPC spec here, and what AVR u using now??
U can try fully uninstall all the sound/video codec(FFDshow,MPC-HC and other sound codec), then install the latest Graphic driver and sound driver too, then directly play the BD with TMT3/TMT5, if it doesn't show DTS HD MA or DD True HD, then try follow the guide below.
Guide setting up bitstreaming with your windows 7 htpc

Actually XBMC not fully support to bitstream HD audio. Need to use TMT3/PowerDVD/MPC to play movie with HD audio

Yr place must have bad earthing or something... usually thunderstorm/lightning blow the cordless or modem connected to telephone lines..

Very seldom heard it blows the PSU... any other electrical appliance in the house got blown too ?
For PSU, I usually recommend ppl to go for high quality and 500W or above cos the PSU will outlast everything else...  mobo/cpu/gpu/ram, so a good quality ones will last more than 5 years or so..

My HTPC just used 220W PSU. So far it not give me any problem.
