hye all..i have panasonic dvd home theater sound system SC-PT75 and panasonic lcd tv 32",also with astro 'beyond'..how can i play movie from my external hard disk using my dvd player that support usb..almost all my movie is 720 p and .mkv format..is it possible?how do i know that my dvd player detect my external hard disk?thanks all

The indicator on your HDD should be blinking and you should hear the HDD loading, plus your DVD player should be able to see the HDD itself (if it detects tho)..

your player should have a navigator interface for you to browse the USB drive content.

those HTiB /DVD player doesn't support H264 MKV. only support the older common DivX and XviD video.

Yep, the navigator should pop-up or something, like Skylinestar said above..did you see the screen appearing?

i think no..i already change at dvd player from dvd mode to usb..nothing pop up..ok,if i burn to dvd,can i watch the movie ,format mkv?at my dvd player just have divx symbol..or i must convert the mkv to avi?

i think what maskedchan means was cant watch..arghh..so,now i MUST convert the mkv to divx to watch?i think my dvd player is powrful enough,lol...

Added on March 13, 2010, 6:23 pmok,now i realize that my dvd player cant play mkv..so now,i want to convert mkv to divx..i already google convert mkv to divx,and the software is megui..before this(8 months ago) i already try convert mkv to divx(300mb file),but it is out of sync,and also its very hard to me,becoz have many setting that i must do..now,i dont wnt to use megui,so,if someone know that the best software to convert from mkv to divx,and can maintain the quality of the orignal source that is mkv 720p(2-3gb)..i dont want when i convert to divx,it reduce quality..thanks..

Added on March 13, 2010, 7:41 pmi try using thumb drive,and my dvd player detect my twilight.avi,but the problem is it not detect my subtitle that is .srt..i already put same name with video,but not work..

Probably most DVD player come with usb but that not mean you can connect it direct with your ex-HDD.It only can read DIVX format that you can load to your thumb drive

because the player not support as well..
get a proper media player..
