Sir brows.gif Perhaps you should consider the Cooler Master 690 Advanced Edition II as your casing instead.

brows.gif I've never seen such an expensive i7 930 before. Anyways, I've heard that an i7 975 is not worth it, so just stick to the i7 930. It's better as it has original OS as well sweat.gif.

I would rather go i7 930 + Thermalright Venomous X and overclock to the max instead of i7 975. i7 975 is ridiculously overpriced. Can even replace your i7 930 if you burn it and it will still cost less than i7 975.

totally depends on what u truly want from a pc actually... fast? how fast is fast in your definition.. but honestly crossfire u can hardly tell the difference cos a single 5850 card can max out in almost any game.. unless u going for like a 30inch monitor or something then maybe u need 2.. for your OS to load faster when starting comp then go for a SSD.. my recommendation is remove 1 card and add 1 ssd.. saves u a few hundred bucks.. juz my 2cents

You know Radeon HD5970 is actually Dual Downclocked Radeon HD5870 or known as Dual Radeon HD5850 in term of performance?
2x Radeon HD5870 pawns Single Radeon HD5970.
2x Radeon HD5850 equals to a Single Radeon HD5970.

-1 to Radeon HD5970.

illuvier's decision is not bad. But, still can be refined. tongue.gif biggrin.gif

+1

single 5970 can last 3-4 years as high end gc
single SSD can last 5-6 years as high end stuff imo

Hell. Don't get 12GB RAM(6x2GB). It's useless for GAMING or NORMAL usages.
Unless you're doing Workstation like Autodesk Maya, 3DsMax, ZBrush and so on.
3x2GB(6GB) RAM is more than enough for Gaming already. Most games are 32bit based, so, they only can take-up maximal of 3GB of RAM and usually less than that.

so,two HD5770s IN CF that equals the HD5870 but costs RM300 cheaper is useless? So does a HD5850 CF setup that equals the HD5970 but costs RM300 is useless too?

The X25-M G2 is a better SSD as it is faster in random read and write.Or try getting the Vertex LE drives, those are among the best MLC SSD available.IINM it costs RM1000+

I gotta say though, two HD5870 to play at 1080p is too much, with current games being made for consoles too even a single HD5850 is enough, unless you're going with three 1080p monitors.

That's RM 3000-5000. =.=!! doh.gif sweat.gif

3x1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 HDD RAID(RM 7XX) is very fast. I think it's almost like a SSD already.
So, it's boot-speed and so on should be like a SSD too. smile.gif

Do you really need 3 GPUs? Two 5870 is more than enough for 1920x1080.

5870 review including 5870 crossfire

The important point is you need to switch all paging, internet caching files to mechanical drive. SSD has a limit number of read, make sure the SSD only store Windows. Other programs are needed to install to normal HDD.

It's 3x1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 HDD RAID. Not a Single 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 HDD.
The performance of RAIDing 3 of it will create a NEW LIGHT. tongue.gif

Yes it can fit in it ^-^ otherwise look up Fastra pc setup, how they do the arrangement of Quad GPU setup ^-^ ..

@Silver, your triple GPU steup overkill man, not bad notworthy.gif ..
@Supernothing : why need till 8gb of ram for the purpose of gaming and not workstation ? Even 3gb ram also can handle it nicely, and i dont suggest WC setup for a newbie to build up coz need skill to maintain it.. Anyway, fan cooling are enough ^-^

Calling people newbie doesn't help with the thread. Besides, it's their money and they already decided to buy it with the budget they have.

I'm also one of those guys who saves up to at least RM5000 to buy a PC when I upgrade. Am I a newbie too?

Then again, very few games needs 2 cards for maximum settings at 1920x1080. Still a waste of money if you go 3 cards. The price will be cheaper if you crossfire later too.

That's depending on what Resolution/Monitors you're on.
If you're using very big resolution like 2560x1440 or more(Eyefinity, 3 LCDs), then, it's OK to have 3x Radeon HD5870.

I think TS got bucks for Dual Radeon HD6870 in the future since he got such a huge budget now. biggrin.gif nod.gif

kinda depends wut resolution u r gonna play at, i kinda recommend that u save a little and get a single gpu like 5870 even if u game pass the 1920x1080.

keep that money and get a next gen card current dx11 cards really dont do that much and all those eye candy games will come probably the same time when new gen gpu comes out.

rest is all good even my i5 with single 5870 plays mass effect 2 fine and thats still a dx9 base engine with some new effects.

I didn't think that TS have just only 1920x1080 Resolution. Sad. doh.gif doh.gif If TS has a few LCDs for Eyefinity, no doubt, Triple Radeon HD5850!

If you are going 24/7 then single 5870 will be good for power savings. Asus EAH5870 Voltage Tweak will be a better buy. If you don't have enough performance, you can OC it higher than other brands because of voltage tweaking and it won't void your warranty.

You can always OC/Voltage Tweak the GPU with MSI Afterburner. What's the big deal having ASUS Radeon HD5870 VT(expensive =.=)?
Moreover, latest CCC(ATi Driver) had made Dual GPU Setup(Dual Radeon) to use Power Play(save power when idling). So, you won't have any problem(power/heat) with Dual Radeon HD5850 or HD5870.

25W increase on idle for 5870 crossfire:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon...70,2422-20.html

Imagine extra 25W for 24/7. It's your call.
*
That won't be much. =.=!!
It's just like 1 or 2 Lights being light-up for 24/7 only. If you can afford Air-Condition for a few hours a days or 24/7(I saw people like that before), what's the big deal having 25W more? It's just too little. If 100-200Watt, I will take consider.

I would suggest sticking to single 5870 until you bump into the wall. Don't forget you can always add another card later if you are not satisfied with your current single 5870 setup. It could be cheaper when Nvidia releases GTX470 and GTX480 too.

1 is better than 2 raid for ssd, yes ur iops will double but u will lack trim. performance degrade will be worse in the end.

ppl get ssd for their fast seek time and raid wont improve on that, thread starter wants a gaming machine not a benching machine.

why did u choose power color brand for gpu instead of Sapphire,Asus,EVGA and etc? because i do research last time and most of he people in the world (i mean in forum etc) asked to avoid power color, and not sure why. Choose Sapphire,Asus and EVGA mostly. I'm not saying that power color is not a good brand but, wondering if there is any special features in power color?

PSU i would like to recommend Antec brand. and 12GB RAM? isn't it too much? hmm.gif

it;s simple really, powercolor sells the cheapest HD5870 here in Malaysia, and it too comes with 2 years of warranty. One more thing, most HD5870 still use the reference design, except a select few like Sapphire Vaporx etc

A single GTX480 already needs at least a 620W PSU to run, if I'm not mistaken... So his 3 GTX480 on a 1000W PSU is total bullshit laugh.gif.

I don't think 1000W can handle three GTX480. Don't forget people can just type the spec on the sig. Three HD5970 will stomp three GTX480 for less power with less heat produced anyway.

Look at the Signature and what he tells and the combination of hardwares. Freaking wrong. If got so much money, where's the SSD?
Sure buy already if he's not telling bullshits, SSD very famous and always recommended to all rich guys. I can't imagine someone buy 3x GTX480 but forget about SSD? Then, 1000Watt PSU for 3x GTX480? ROFL?

ROFL. This is a Hardware that Corsair designed and sell to people. Those who're using it must donate money to Corsair for free daily. tongue.gif
Good for rich mans. nod.gif

Actually, already enough. By seeing his things, everything is like high-end and top-end. So, basically, we know he's telling some rubbishes/craps or he's really rich(low possible) due to there's a lot of flaws(both he talks and his signature).

My dear Moongrave, SSD is not to store all your movies and videos and music. It's for applications to launch and load faster than ever. LOL.

you make yourself look stupider
haf 932 has not enough room for airflow for 3 gtx480, you'll end up burning your house

Oh ya, if you were that smart, you'd know that hd5970 is faster than gtx480

You wouldn't get HD score even you raid your WD Black 2TB.Corsair HX1000w Power Supply is actually 1500w so i guess it still possible to pump up the spec.
Weird part is , you OC your 980 using Cooler Master V10 ??? sweat.gif
And your use LCD Sony Bravia XBR 46 inch as your monitor ??? sweat.gif

Post your Unigine score here.

There's too many flaws in his speaking/post and his signature actually.
100% confirmed it's fake. How can a fellah using CM V10 on the Core i7 980X OCed. Core i7 980X is damn hot when OCed, sure need WC.

3x of Geforce GTX480 will be an oven. He gonna cook some food for us to see, I think.
1 of it can reach about 100C in Malaysia Area already.
I can't imagine 3 units. doh.gif sweat.gif

Basically, only EVGA Geforce GTX480 1.5GB GDDR5 FTW version can be bought. Because it's Factory OCed and have EK WaterBlock(noiseless) to cool down it's temperature.
Well, the price is ridicolous too. tongue.gif
