QUOTE(yangxi @ Jun 29 2010, 07:04 PM) if bought on june. can direct update 17/6 firmware. http://www.4shared.com/file/PRKcUn7w/Hdpro_20100617.htmllogin: yangxi did you goto setup -> audio -> select spdif RAW? try select other setting. When I got my Hdpro on 26Jun, noticed that the FW is RY Mar31 2010 Anyway upgrade the FW first to version May then Jun 17. As I have backup of disk, and after reading the upgrading guide provided in May version that it didn't mention about the removal of harddisk. I gave it a try doing the upgrade without removing the harddisk. Wow it works Save the hassle of unscrewing the unit.

QUOTE(PoorMan @ Jul 4 2010, 03:19 PM) You can use those common red-white audio cables. Try them out first and see if you can hear any difference compared to those expensive ones. QUOTE(neb @ Jul 4 2010, 06:54 PM) hdpro got both coaxial and optical digital audio output, and your AVR got coaxial, perfect match, so why do you need to buy RM170 worth of whatever, very puzzling [attachmentid=1659446] Currently already using the normal RCA output from Hdpro(those with red-white cable). Thinking of using the coaxial output from Hdpro to my AVR coaxial input to experience the different. But RM170 for an coaxial is a bit too expensive to try. Anyone have tried the RCA vs Coaxial? Not sure if RCA can still play DTS 5.1?

QUOTE(neb @ Jul 4 2010, 11:01 PM) for coaxial digital audio, you can use any 75Ω coaxial cable such as RG-6 cable used in astro, even the RCA cable, you do not need to buy RM170 cable Thanks for your advice. I keep my RM170 for othes

QUOTE(azbro @ Jul 5 2010, 12:23 PM) RCA cables: Coaxial cables As you can see, the difference is shielding...signals from Digital Audio is prone to interference...thats why they use Coaxial or toslinks. It can also handle more energy than those pasar malam RCA cables for optimum digital transfer. Difference between normal coaxial RG6U Vs a Monster coaxial RM100 one is the material they used, branding and how many shielding it has. I once DIY a triple shielding Coaxial, but later found out, a single shield was good enough. For DIY: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1209686I swear by Coaxial cables over RCA cause I have experience of major interference cause i need to bundle up my cable due to space constrain. Very interesting information. Thanks bro Azbro.

QUOTE(myst @ Jul 6 2010, 08:42 PM) can view through network? Samba must be running first. Then you need to know the IP address of your Hdpro. Type the same IP in the window explorer and you should be able to access the hdd of Hdpro. This work for me for winxp. No sure vista work the same.

When playing the mp3 files or photos, noted that it loop back to replay from the start after the last file.
Does anyone know how to stop the looping function?

QUOTE(zäryc @ Oct 29 2010, 09:25 PM) Hi Yangxi, for the zoom button, there are 2x, 3x etc., the last press will give option to customize x and y zoom %. Can we request that one of the zoom mode automatically zoom till max height ( most of the time x and y = 120% x 120%) for cinema scope to play fullscreen on a 16:9 tv. i.e first press 1.2x then 2x and so forth. Thank you note: zooming 1.2x will remove the black bar on top and bottom from 16:9 tv for most cinema scope movies. But it also crop left and right of the frame. But you'll see that it is nicer to have the movie play fullscreen on a 16:9. Try set your LCD format from widescrren to movie expand 16:9, mine can get full screen with this.
