Can you help me decide which one to choose:

1) HD Pro+
2) HD Pro Mini
3) S9

I intend to use external HDD for the movies. All these 3 models can support external HDD without problem / lag?

HDPro HDMI does not support real DTS right? I'm using a projector (no LCD TV..) with HDMI connected to a AVR. So I usually connect my player to AVR using HDMI. If I need to connect separate coaxial from HDPro to AVR for the DTS audio, that means I cannot use AVR for video output to my projector?

What are the things that S9 and Mini are better than HDPro+?

Any other brothers can advise too?

Need help on the subtitles.

I have downloaded many documentary / movies together with English and Chinese subtitles (separate files), mostly in .srt format .

I know I have to make the movie file name same as the srt file in order to be recognized while playing. How should I name the 2nd srt file (say Chinese sub) to enable the selection in HDPro?

Are there any difference in setting the subtitle filename for .mkv / avi / mp4 / rmvb? What about when dealing with different subtitle format other than .srt?

Also, sometimes after a hard search, I only managed to get a subtitle which is out of synchronization. I'm confused with the sync function in HDPro's subtitle setting.

Can any master advise on the above?

Sure I put all subtitles in same folder. But most of the time I can only select the one with the same filename as the movie.

e.g.:

movie: spiderman1.eng.mkv
eng sub: spiderman1.eng.srt
chs sub: spidermain1.chs.srt <---- this one doesn't seem to show up in the subtitle menu.

Also, why some movie's subtitle is on by default and other are off?

Yes. I think you are right. It seems that the subtitle file must contain the full file name of the movie file.

Even with the movie with "built-in" subtitle, it can still select additional .srt subtitle if the filename is correctly set.

Don't quite get it. You mean to stay tune for Realtek1283? Is this newer and better than 1055?

What are the features for 1283 and when do you expect to get it?

I thought 1283 is considered 'old generation' compared to 1055? Shouldn't you get the equivalent model of 1055 player which can do recording and network streaming, etc? (which is.....?)

I'm looking for something similar to 1283 which has more functions as an upgrade to my HDPro+....

I have given away my HDPRO+ to my family member and now waiting for new 1055 model with recording function.....A bit tempted by HDPRO R1055 but feel the function limited. Any feedback from users who already bought?

I thought 1283 is equivalent to / same processor as 1073DD+ of HDPro+?

Or is R1283 same processor with R1055?? What about R1185??
