Just got my HD-Pro today. So would like to know which way is good to connect the hd-pro to the AVR. I have onkyo sr607 avr. normally i connect my hdmi cables directly to the tv. Im a bit confuse cos there is no m.player port in the avr to connect the hd-pro.
Any suggestion ?

I assume that your AVR does not have any HDMI inputs?

In my case:
HDPro -> HDMI -> HDTV for the video.
HDPro -> Coaxial or Optical -> AVR for stereo, DD and DTS sound reproduction.
HDPro audio settings -> SPDIF RAW/LPCM 2Ch

Edited: Oops. Just checked that your AVR does have HDMI support.

In that case:
HDPro -> HDMI -> AVR (one of available input)
AVR -> HDMI out (another HDMI cable) -> HDTV
HDPro audio settings -> HDMI RAW/HDMI Multi-Ch

Pls note that you need to switch your AVR on to use HDPro, similar to your BD and/or DVD players

I think i'll try the below steps, coz my dvd player and astro byond using the same type of connections

HDPro -> Coaxial or Optical -> AVR

Thanks for the advice.

are you using spdif raw digital audio out? if yes, there might be no sound for aac or mp3 audio unless change to analog audio.

else, re-encode your movies with 5.1 AAC audio to 5.1 Dolby Digital.

If im not wrong almost all my bd rip (mkv) movies are comes with acc audio format.. so i thnk i need change the audio settings !
anyway how to reencode it to 5.1 d.digital?
wht software i need to use to reencode it ?

Not sure if due to HDPro problem. Have you assign (setup within Onkyo) the coax input to HDPro (for example an unused input mode like VCR) yet?

Did you also try to troubleshoot if using HDMI input to the tx-sr607?
*
i never try with the hdmi input, my dvd player and a.byond are connected to avr via the coaxial and the hdmi dicrectly connected to the tv. i just plug out the the coaxial from dvd player and plug in to the HD-Pro, thought it will work without any extra settings !

If the coaxial thing ddnt work than i might need to plug in all my hdmi cables to the hdmi input at the avr !
