is there anybody here whom studied music degree in our public unis such as UM, UPM and USM?
i would like to gain more insight regarding this course and what to expect during auditions/interviews.
would also like to know how many students are accepted in a batch.

hey there, i have a friend's sis graduated from UPM. From what she says, UPM music degree is for performance and they have two type, Classical and Contemporary...
From what i heard, u have to play 3 pieces of different period in the audition. And they will test ur sight reading, listening and scales...

for USM, its more to traditional music. i dont know anyone graduated there.. not much of infos of tat uni. And same goes to UM...

TS stpm leaver??? =)

as i remember, UPSI oso offers.. but i dunno in details bout the course..

their student take bach deg major in music or arts + can oso get education degree (minor a subject).. i think

The programme that UPSI offers is called Bachelor in Education (Music) which is mainly to create music educator.

Other than STPM, they accept diploma also. You may check the uni entry requirement from the websites.

Generally, I think you can go into anything music-related if you graduate with this degree. If you're enterprising and hardworking enough, maybe even start off a (hopefully) successful business? wink.gif Also, I'm sure there are music companies out there who are willing to hire people with this degree to join them..

I've yet to meet a music graduate from a local U, I'm just as curious as everyone here to find out how things are in local U's for music courses? smile.gif

there're 2 types of approach:

1. you know you want italian food, specifically speghetti bolognese, so you find the best italian restaurant and will try to find the one that offer the best speghetti bolognese.

2. you know you want italian food. you have no idea what you'll end up with, so you can't decide which restaurant to go. so you seek for reviews and choose according to which reviewer/blogger/food photos/menu appeal you the most.
