yeah... maybe momentum... or inertia, the gear is not perfectly done, it still have several issues to solve... under prototype...

those gears have been extremely modified.. does the outcome of the gears marvellous without any error? i mean, if gears are mod in this way, u might experience some level of distortion that might be detrimental to the gearing system.
mod of gear(not including wrongly done) surely will bring more efficiency transmission than un-mod, -it improve the smoothness of the gear, -less load for motor, -thus motor can reach to the peak shortly. -car faster.
that' the purpose of mod the gear.
meanwhile the "way" of mod it, it might depend on people's citarasa sendiri...

my understanding of gear is: -cannot be too loose, too tight, at least some free play is needed for smoothness however minimize external friction.
since junichi voice out, i would like to share some of my view on the gear above (ms pro gear).
- compare normal counter gear, ms pro counter gear included 2 type of gears in 1: crown type for input, spur type for output. - to improve the smoothness for both type of gear, we know bearing is one of the best way, however, the green gear need diff type of bearing.
- for crown, since it's high axial force, it need thrust bearing - for spur, since it's linear movement of force, it need normal ball bearing.
in this case, you can realize that ms pro gear actually is very difficult to mod, not on the technical way but the nature.
it's limited by the crown gear since mini 4wd part did't have any thrust bearing product. so you have to looking for any ball bearing that suitable to work as thrust bearing.
bearing we need to replace thrust bearing should have several elements: -bearing without ball cage, -bigger size since less arm force.
this is my research on ms pro gear.
