QUOTE(babyelf @ Jul 25 2005, 04:27 PM) check ur venice and look for the stepping.. try some of this flash to 618-2 bios use yellow slots for ram UTT with active cooling i'd say 3.4-3.5 for 24/7 use.. processor on stock heatsink 1.5-1.58max if lazy then i don't think DFI board is suitable for u.. give it some time and tweak it.. thx bro~ don scold me like that ma~~ im lazy cuz i cant wait to see how is my new system performs le :-) ok ok, with some of ur advice, ill try. will study more about this new baby set. by the way, the heat issue of the mosfet when switch to 4v vdimm still remain? and the rams temp, must us a heat spreader? or just leave it nude better? thx yo~

QUOTE(KilJim @ Oct 26 2005, 08:03 PM) think u didnt read the proper overclocking guides, am i right? well first thing u do is lower the multi for your rams i believe in the page where u set the timings there's an option for DDR400, DDR333, DDR266 and so on by default it's DDR400 if your rams are, set it to something lower like DDR333 or lower btw all these stuff are really basic...so pls read up on it since i'm in a good mood, here are some links, these are probably all you'll need to know http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showpost.p...167&postcount=3http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20823read the first link first, 2nd link has a lottt of info thx for the link, very nice info. i think ill pull out from DFI mobo on my next system... cuz it's really too complicated la....

er... need some advise here. im o/c my venice now. but ythe HTT can be adjusted? it's still running the same with FSB.
my o/c tuning is like this:
divider = cpu/fsb 6/5 FSB = 280 LDT = 3x
but i check with cpuid, the HTT still 280.
is this a bugs? ur im setup wrongly~
thx

QUOTE(KilJim @ Dec 10 2005, 04:07 AM) your HTT will be whatever u fsb u set in your bios, its not affected by the divider that divider is to control the freq of your rams only btw, wat mobo are u using? oh i c~ so no matter how, FSB still running same with HTT? im using DFI sli-d. im trying to o/c it to 300fsb but my system is not stable. stop prme after 10s. is it because the HTT is too high? or my venice need more vdimm? im try on 1.63V only. didnt try out more) thx

QUOTE(ah_khoo @ Dec 10 2005, 09:53 AM) HTT = FSB in A64, frequency of ram depends on how u set d divider as wat Jim mentioned. wat kinda ram u are usin? could be ram problem oso. stepping of ya venice? I can safely say not all venice can do 2.7GHz. HTT = FSB.... so what we can do is only to adjust the FSB only but not the HTT lo? hem, so 300 HTT consider as high or not? im gonna try to benchies my cpu at 2.7GH. well, my full setup: 1.thermalright xp90c 2.coolermaster 450watss pure power PSU (i suspect this one also.. which this PSU is only a midrange product) 3.twinmos speed premium 1AA4t (CH5-UTT rams)

QUOTE(KilJim @ Dec 10 2005, 02:59 PM) if you're testing how far your proc can go, just set the rams @ 133 or something like that so you're sure that they're not limiting your proc IMO anything below 1.7v is okay for benching with air cooling (if u got a nice hsf) after testing and priming lower it back again la yeah, 2.7ghz isnt that common actually ok ok, will try to lower it down to 133 first.
