QUOTE(antonio_zth @ Sep 19 2005, 12:05 PM) Vantec Iceberq + overclocked 250 HTT 1.6v CPU 3.2v Ram 1.6v Chipset = 38c (idle) 41c (Full load) Did u use AS5? all values are achieve using full blast of the Vantec Fan and some cool air from CrossFan (Stacker's Mobo Fan) I did a polish of the old heatsink took out the steel plate paste some AS5 and running a vantec 82mm fan, idle at 38-39, load at 41-43... also running XP90c HSF...but i think using vantec iceberg should have a better temp, maybe the AS5+polish? Edit: this is at 260mhz running on stock chipset heat sink.... This post has been edited by DaBaD: Sep 24 2005, 10:38 AM |

QUOTE(antonio_zth @ Sep 24 2005, 10:47 AM) Just read from DFI Street mod of Vantec iceberg as chipdet heastsinkIt looks like they changed the fan of the vantec and instead use the fan from the stock chipset cooler coz the stock chipset fan has more power+rpm!! Ape lg Antionio,it's modding time!!!! This post has been edited by DaBaD: Sep 24 2005, 10:54 AM |

QUOTE(antonio_zth @ Sep 26 2005, 03:20 PM) nop...last time i used the vantec to cool my chipset but i noticed when i use two times the vantec both my mobo kong... That's where the spung of the old chipset heat sink comes in very handy and is an important item!!! when look back the vantec needs a very tight clips to make sure the chipset cooler surface are intact with the chipset... ATTENTION!!! to make sure ur chipset receive 100% heat trahnsfer to the Vantec Iceberq make sure the cooler is stack up really tight and check the gap throughly b4 u fire up your system..Failure to do so will kill ur chipset... |

whats the power of the fan? High amp fan are NOT for the mobo connecters on the mobo, and they can damage the mobo in some cases...using a 4molex pin on the psu is much safer, and the fan can recive full power...

Actually providing better cooling for the chipset will provide better stability to the board
It has been discuss at DFi-street before This post has been edited by DaBaD: Apr 5 2006, 01:41 AM |
