hi everyone... i just lost my iphone few hours ago n tried to make calls...the thief has removed my sim card n probably pop in his sim.

My iphone has gmail services...when i got back home i've found out my gmail stated my account if as follows:

"This account is open in 1 other location at this IP (xx.xx.xxx.xxx) “using POP3 service ie my iphone”. Last account activity: XX minutes ago"

i know the police will just simply ignore this small case if i report police...but i'm wondering is it possible to trace the IP address that the thief accidentally log in to my gmail account using my lost iphone.

thanks

best to make a police report, any theft case is not a small case, bring your police report to your telco, they might be able to help.. at least what I think.. sorry for your lost.

well, honestly I am offended by you saying that its a "kid suggestion", I voiced out what I think its the best options I would take, and you on the other hand just put down that idea, without even giving it a try or at least rejecting it with a proper manner.

If you expect ppl's help, at the very least, you will need to provide sufficient information. Citizens like us are less likely able to trace ur phone from just IP address. The only ones who probably can do it, are from the internet providers, and if you wish to trace your phone, this may not be the only option, but it is one of it.. at least its better than you sitting around in front of your computer ranting about your loss and putting my suggestion down as though I've not gave it a thought before voicing out.

btw, it does not matter where your phone is from, ip address comes from the source of internet, so chances are, it can be traced by telcos, or isp like streamyx, provided u have enough documents for them to help do so.
