Hi guys
I am new to AMD OCing
Still rebuilding my rig up

My specs:-
AMD X2 5000 45Nm Deneb@AMD X4 FX5000
2X2GB Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2 800
Onboard GPU for the moment (Aiming ATI HD5850)
MSI 785GTE-E45 mobo
Vantec 600W modular PSU

I would like to know what is the best CPU cooler for AM2+ socket now? Will need it for OCing later smile.gif

AMD Phenom FX-5000 | 3300Mhz | shinjite | MSI 785GTM-E45 | Corsair VS 667Mhz | 800Mhz | 5-4-4-12-15 | Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme

Full load in a non air cond room can reach till 60c full load sweat.gif
I am on stock voltage 1.44v-1.456v

Anyway, AMD overclocking is new to me
So need to learn more on how it runs

For Phenom, stock should be around 1.35v

But this 1 special, stock 1.44v

Maybe as well....hahaha
My goal is to get 300Mhz FSB stable I puas adi (50% OC)

Now I lower down my HT since its best that the HT is lower than the CPU-NB speed. Something new to me....so gonna tweak around ^^

or maybe u should lower down the ht link..
*
Currently trying CPU-NB at 300*7 = 2100Mhz
and HT Link at 300*6 = 1800Mhz
See how it goes, priming small FFTs

So far priming with small FFTs, running for 2 hours 30minutes ++
So far no errors.....*touch wood*

300x11 Voltage Auto in BIOS
CPU-NB is 2100Mhz, HT Link is 1800Mhz

I am satisfied at 2400Mhz HT Link
So far OCCT 8 hours stable, prime 95 small ffts stable, Blend stable
What other softwares should I test?

My Crucial RAM go RMA ~_~
Now using Corsair VS 667Mhz for the time being
It can do 800Mhz 4-4-4-12-15 so far stable

My multiplier max at 11, can't do much, >300FSB is kinda hard to boot already

Guess my CPU's FSB is like 300Mhz only sad.gif
Can't see to boot any higher than 300Mhz GEEZ....but 3.3Ghz from 2.2Ghz is already quite satisfying hahaah

SuperPI, after tweaking, best got is 20.686 for 1MB

Yeah I tried most of the thing, also useless
So stuck with max 3.3Ghz OC, already satisfied. 50% OC smile.gif

Max multiplier given is 11x only ~_~

r u still on igp bro? if so that's a massive oc to me...  thumbup.gif
1.1GHz oc on am2+ deneb is awesome, i dun think that can be easily done on 920/940.  notworthy.gif
*
Yeah I am still on IGP smile.gif
After numerous tweaking, got 20.686s 1MB SuperPI
Prime95 Blend test started last night at 2am and running fine till now

Full load at 52c-53c smile.gif
Funny thing is the Vcore, set 1.44V in BIOS, full load it goes up till 1.48V in Windows (auto overvolts, damn smart) rclxub.gif
But idle, no problems at 1.44V, cilaka but nvm, full load temps below 60c is good enough brows.gif

how high shinjite when load?

I think the AUX is a bogus value......can hit as high as >100c
Idle around 90c

woot!!! impressive, i'm pretty sure there's still some headroom in d chip if u move to discrete graphic.  nod.gif

i noticed am2+ deneb are a tad hotter than its am3 brothers. not surprisin at all to see boards overvolt, especially those on budget line. as long as no very frequent fluctuation, it's safe. my fren's ahsos mobo w/ 8+2 pwm oso encounter undervolt...  doh.gif

one thing to note is to have ya mosfets actively cooled w/ that kinda volt. i used 770-g45 before, primin @ high volt (1.6Xv) on dual cores, i heard screamin chokes... not sayin msi is bad, but i've heard few cases that their boards died of burn mosfet(s)...  sweat.gif

ASUS is famous for flunctuating voltages
Same with Abit as well during my P4 overclocking days 7 years ago
