QUOTE(hakunamatata @ Mar 7 2010, 11:01 PM) The biggest difference is the screen, where Magic is capacitive touch screen, and Tattoo is resistive touch screen.Resistive=pressure (fingernail/stylus) Capacitive=touch (finger) QUOTE(hakunamatata @ Mar 11 2010, 10:00 PM) in fact, any other Android phones by HTC are the better replacements, Magic is one of the oldest phone to have Android OS. |

QUOTE(SpIcYjOe @ Mar 13 2010, 11:46 PM) good or not depends on you.altho it is upgradable, but then you should know that with the pace Android/HTC is moving, well, Magic may not get so much of attention. if you want to keep the price to the min, and doesn't mind being in the same level while others have all the newer stuff, then it's good for you =) |

QUOTE(yan5619 @ Mar 14 2010, 11:12 AM) good or not depends on you. hmmmm, its upgradable as in firmware? I am new to android and HTC because i've used Nokia and SE for the past few years, changed to LG last year and it really sucks.... since neowin reported adroid is growing fast, i wanna try android...altho it is upgradable, but then you should know that with the pace Android/HTC is moving, well, Magic may not get so much of attention. if you want to keep the price to the min, and doesn't mind being in the same level while others have all the newer stuff, then it's good for you =) what do you mean tho by same level as other having new stuff? |

And thus, news are coming out that version 2.1 is to be released for Heros. And yes, this situation happens to most technology devices, however, Android is new, and the newer versions will come out much faster than other OSes, thus, getting a 'newer generation' of phone is preferable, IMHO. |

QUOTE(yan5619 @ Mar 15 2010, 09:23 AM) yes the firmware. oh ok understood... but than now hero very expensive and i feel that the design of the device ain't as nice as magic, don't you think?sorry for the poor description. say now, tattoo are running on Androif 1.6, while the latest available version is Android 2.1. you may be able to root it right away after you got ur device, but then you may not get 'official releases' for later versions (or so) because the Tattoo and Magic are the older gen phones, and the hardware will be incompatible/not so competitive for the newer versions. in this situation, you may be stucked in the older version. take another example, the HTC Hero is much more promising as it is (compared with Magic) the first phone to have Sense UI, and it is competitive enough to get the upgrade 'attention'. wah don't want! HTC Tattoo design even worst!!! lol... the big giant button spoil the look... how i wish magic can hold hero firmware with no problem... but anyways, for a basic user like me, want to sms, online, call and ebuddy only... is magic good enough? basically, i sometimes do take random photos too....
and also, i want to know does the magic have any lag to it when its in the gallery... LG Viewty is super lag where u need to wait about 7-8 second to load one single image... This post has been edited by SpIcYjOe: Mar 15 2010, 09:39 PM |
