Got my KAVE a few days ago, wanna share my experience tweaking it with my X-Fi Titanium PCI soundcard, hopes it helps some ppl on the hisisng sound.

My X-Fi has a FlexiJack connected (Black coloured) which could be set to become either as a Line-In or Microphone. When I set it to Microphone mode, I could start hearing the hissing, even with the Mic turned off (pressing the Mute Mic button at the KAVE desktop controller). Set to Line-In and the hissing is gone! laugh.gif But the hissing will come back when I needed to use the Mic. doh.gif

Some of you if you could hear the surrounding sound after the Mic is turned on, that's probably because your default playback devices is set to output what the Microphone has taken in.
Disable it via Sounds -> Playback -> Speakers -> Properties -> Levels, mute the Mic. That should stop the sound of the Microphone.

Yes normal music only have 2 channels (stereo) output, if using KAVE you'll only hear the sound from the two Front speakers. Unless you use your sound card/playback software to make it to a 5.1 output.

So far, had no problem with the bass/vibration unit, sounds getting better after 3 days burn in with Subwoofer volume turned off (scare the vibration unit cannot tahan overnight burn in rclxub.gif )

But the greatest downside for me is still the weight! Having headache after 1hr+ of using.. icon_question.gif I think the 3 cushions on the head are too thin and hard..for me only the middle one touch my head (yes I did tried to put the head band a little bit forward but it's still the same! Maybe my head is too sharp!?)

Please correct me if I said anything stupid~ tongue.gif

Suppose you will get used to the weight. It was heavy for me in the beginning too, gets a headache after an hour. Now I can play with that thing on for 3 hours without having to take it off at all. But I believe the problem is not to shift the headphone forward, but to loosen it up a bit. You won't be dancing around with that thing, so don't worry that it will drop off your head.]
I'm current using the 6th step for the length of the headband, putting it to five makes the earcups squeezing my head so hard(headache comes faster) and putting it to seven makes the headphone's weight focus on the my head through 2 of the cushions only since the earcups no more holding as tightly as step 6..but haven try one side 6 one side 7..lol doh.gif
