If price is of no concern, would you choose granite or tiles for your kitchen table top ? Any other options ?

but granite is not easy to maintain i was told

btw, for solid surface. i read somewhere you can't put hot stuff on it? that means it can't be used in wet kitchen?

for versatility i would say go for 2X2... even if u whack it.. u can easily replace the tiles. And the table top will last you for ages... if you can find a good tiler... they can make it look almost seamless. My second choice is solid surface... more versatile than the granite and cheaper also. The best if you can find engineered stone(quartz).

quartz is very expensive. more expensive than granite
