LOL, just now I was thinking "what if RG 1/144 come out Gundam Unicorn?!!", will you guys buy it??
*
See price tag first... then articulation... it'll be very hard to make a 1/144 scale Unicorn with complete transformation as the MG already has very thin, fragile parts.

For those who are confused between different W designs.

I actually like the original Okawara first gen gundams compared to the upgrades and Katoki/EW variants. Apart from the Sandrock that is, which I find the EW version's colours more appealing, although I like the beam uzi gun.

Man, I'm old school.

While we are at it, can anyone tell me how many design are there for the basic RX-78-2 Gundam? I've seen similar designation but with different shoulder armor design. Why is that?
*
Not sure what you are asking, but here goes:

For gunpla...
MG - 1.0, 1.5, ver Ka, Perfect Gundam, OYW, ver2.0 (these are not including MSVs)
HGUC - original, 30th anniversary
Not sure about ancient versions of gunpla, and recolors/extra-finish/special editions don't count.

As for in-universe RX-78s,
RX-78-1 : Black and white unit
2 : Amuro's red-white-blue unit
3 : G3
4 : The blue one with beam launcher
5 : The red one with gatling
6 : Murdoch
7 : The Katoki designed one with full-armor parts.

Note that Murdoch is the only one without any mainstream gunpla released. There are also variations such as Casval custom and the recently released FA gundam. The Alex is loosely based on the RX78 series although it's often considered as a separate unit.

^^ thanks for the explanations, but not quite what I was looking for.

Perhaps this should explains it.

RX-78-2

RX-78-2 v2.0
http://dalong.net/review/mg/m111/p/m111_01.jpg

Notice the different shoulder armour?
*
As mentioned, they are all different versions of the RX78's gunpla. No one knows why the variation exists - ask Bandai.
Generally speaking the ver2.0 is most accurate to the anime design. Note that apart from the Perfect Gundam and ver2.0, the other MGs all have a yellow frame around the chest vents; which is something not present in the original lineart.

Anyway, behold the prototype designs of W gundams !! The URL themselves are self-explanatory.

Sneak pics of the MG Deathscythe... Still don't understand Bandai's decision here... Why don't they release the more popular DHC or just stick to the original Okawara Deathscythe....

I'm still hoping for an MG Nightingale. 14k yen also i'll buy.  sweat.gif

*
I'll settle for a HGUC Nightingale, provided that they don't mess with the proportions like the Hi-Nu.

QUOTE(Duke Beard @ Jun 25 2010, 01:30 PM)
The O will only appeal to old school/ UC elitists (lol) fan boys like me, who grew up on UC stuffs.

Nothing beats stuff from UC smile.gif
*
+1

The reason why The O is so awesome is because it only has one rifle, sabres, and nothing else, yet it kicks ass. Kamille couldn't even touch The O until biosensor paralysed the latter, where a similar thing happened in Unicorn when Barnage and Riddy tag-teamed and psyco-stunned the Sinanju... oops spoiler whistling.gif tongue.gif

http://superrobotwar.wordpress.com/2010/06...japan-magazine/
Lots of The O preview pics... looks pretty much like the finished product despite the mismatched colours. Somewhat underwhelming but let's wait until the actual release to see its gimmicks.

I don't think those are mismatched colors for MG The O. They're going for two-tone yellow like what they did to MG Sazabi, which has two different red colors.

*
The Sazabi's two town is barely noticable, unlike The O's which is very much an eyesore. Judging from the preview pictures, it seems like The O is going to end up like most big MGs - big, bulky, heavy, but useless in posing.

Looks like the MG The O is going to have two-tone colours based on the pictures of the runners... bad move Bandai, since the two different shades of yellow don't fit at all.

http://www.toy-world.com.hk/forum/viewthre...page%3D1&page=5

Note that there aren't any pictures which show off the leg articulation. Which may suggest that there isn't any much to begin with, just like how the MG Unicorn pictures all show the gunpla standing straight instead ot the usual fancy poses.

Now go release the MG Delta Plus... pretty please.

QUOTE(xDarkKn1ghtx @ Jun 27 2010, 12:03 PM)
why release something that is so similar to hyaku shiki.. the transformation mite suck cuz they said they cant do it.. even if they can the kit will be hefty..
*
The Delta Plus may look like the Hyaku Shiki, but if it ever gets released it will have a different frame due to its transformation mechanism. In fact it will be very distinctive from the Zeta as the legs flip in opposite directions (down, rather than up) and the skirt armours flip backwards like the Rezel. The wings however are likely to follow the Zeta Plus's design.

QUOTE(Duke Beard @ Jun 27 2010, 04:05 PM)
No offense here, but does anybody even recall The O doing the (now very famous Zaku) kneeling pose from anywhere? Even the HG and the MSIA kits provided very limited leg articulation.

Providence and Legend Gundams look more like turtles to me  laugh.gif
*
The point regarding The O's lack of articulation is a statement, not a complaint.

Providence is WIN. Legend suck. Nix Providence on the other hand dropped into a barrel of mutating goo.

Another deliberate colour mismatch? Angelo's Zulu is purple, not dual-tone pink... doh.gif

Not cool, Bandai.

Yet the official pictures, which are obviously painted, show the correct colour.

Now Nightingale is even better... not only it holds two beam sabres there, it proudly displays its manhood in a protruding manner.

Good move for Bandai... They fixed the colours of The-O and Angelo's Zulu before its official release. Both still need quite a lot of touchup though; The-O with the green verniers and the Zulu with its white decoration lines.

and white colour doh.gif

I feel white is not suitable for dead, all DS gundam should in black, dark green or grey....but why white ?  sad.gif
*
The excessive use of white brings much fail to the Katoki Deathscythe.

Still don't understand why they didn't go with Okawara's design. More menacing.
Maybe they really want to follow the Wing route - ver Ka, EW, TV version.

Correct me if i'm wrong.. isnt the 1st Deathscythe the one without Cloak/Wings? The upgraded aka D-Hell was the one with Cloak/Wings right?
*
Yes.

The Deathscythe Hell made more sense than DHC as it still can use its arms when the cloak is covering the torso.

EW designs are more for bling than practicality.

Actually, ANY Gundam that doesn't have a V fin and a protruding chin, doesn't look like Gundam at all. Not many people liked Zeta's design at first just because his chin was white, which made it look less Gundam.  laugh.gif

*
At least in Zeta the MKII was the main protagonist suit for half the series. Zeta, despite its unorthodox design, still gives me the Gundam vibe.
EZ8 didn't have a V-fin but it looked nothing less like a gundam, in fact I think it looks better than the normal ground type.

Be patient.... August coming soon... Unicorn EP2... sure got lots of HGUCs.... Angelo custom and Sinanju will most likely be the first ones to be released.

QUOTE(Hellscream @ Jul 12 2010, 07:55 PM)
The original okawara design, DS is Europe gundam so the shield bear with a cross, making it unique.

For what it's worth, Duo is American... not European.

if complete set, Perfect Zeong is the tallest MG, second i think would be either Nightingale The-O or Sinanju  hmm.gif

The O would be 28cm if you include the rear upper tail binder, although Nu would be taller if you count the funnels.

Fail for Bandai.

The menacing looking Hyaku Shiki Kai rifle with a huge barrel and scope is gone, and in its place is the Rezel's gun with a puny nozzle. And the shield looks round and fat instead of the sleek Delta Gundam version.

Now this is what the DP should look like:

May be Commander/Leader version Delta Plus may have the beam rifle ? ohmy.gif

There's only one Delta Plus in Unicorn.

The Commander Rezel, which I think you are referring to, has a different beam rifle which is mounted on the shoulder like a bazooka.

The Delta Plus carries the FA Hyaku Shiki Kai's mega beam rifle according to the original Katoki lineart, although he did mention that the overall armament setup for the DP is not finalised at that stage. So maybe Bandai's dudes decided to nerf the DP to having a standard Rezel rifle for the anime. Which is kinda weird since the novel pictures all show the DP using the huge rifle and Delta Gundam's thin shield.
