Amazon US with slipcovers, saw that as sold 2 copies already...but would u pay RM40 for the slip cover?? tongue.gif
*
Why not Amazon just include the slipcover instead and why do you have to pay RM40? Please explain , i dont understand.

I've never purchased from Amazon, until yesterday i placed 5 copies of A Bug's Life. That's scaring me at the moment.

Wonder if my ABL all without slipcover? cry.gif cry.gif

Do you know what is slipcover???  unsure.gif
It does came with normal casing but the paper covers like the US version are missing....
*
Of course i know, but if you are paying for the entire disc, why not they just sent it with slipcovers.

I mean, i dont know you prefer the slipcover or you dont , but i think slipcover just makes the BD look merrier. brows.gif whistling.gif

Aathavan , Unnaipol Oruvan , Eenadu Blu-ray Disc Review [source : zulm.net]

I just watched both 'Aathavan' and 'Unnnai Pol Oruvan'. I had in fact ordered the 'Unai Pol Oruvan' Blu-ray and was concerned when I saw the 'Eenadu' Blu-ray in my mailbox. Thankfully, the Blu-ray has both the Tamil and Telugu versions on the same disc (Kamal Hassan with Mohan Lal and Kamal Hassan with Venkatesh respectively). The default soundtrack for both versions was DTS-HD MA 5.1 on my Blu-ray. There is a Tamil LPCM 5.1 soundtrack also. The Blu-ray cover is "Unnai Pol Oruvan" on one side and "Eenadu" on the reverse.

So, depending on what language you wanna watch primarily, you can switch your cover accordingly. After that confusion was cleared up, I actually got around to watching the movie. Had very high expectations for the movie as it was shot using the Red One camera and the transfer onto a Blu-ray should mirror the digital source flawlessly, in theory. In practice though, I feel that some of the visual detail has been lost (maybe as a compromise in trying to fit 2 movies into one Blu-ray or maybe that is the level of detail on the source itself?). It just didn't have that 'Wow' factor for me.

I could be mistaken here, but that's just my impression. Don't get me wrong though - it is still a fine presentation, just wondering if it could've been better. The DTS-HD MA 5.1 soundtrack does its job as expected.

"Aathavan" is another staple release from Ayngaran, holding up well in both the Audio and Video departments. The video is really up there with other previous definitive ayngaran releases and can certainly give the other Blu-rays a run for their money (barring 'Sivaji' of course, which still remains numero uno). I thought that the amount of discernable detail visible on this Blu-ray was much better than that on 'Unnai Pol Oruvan'.

The soundtrack doesn't disappoint either, scoring very highly with both the DTS-HD MA 5.1 and LPCM 5.1 versions onboard (again, I thought that my subwoofers got more of a workout with this Blu-ray than with 'Unnai Pol Oruvan', but then that could also reflect the different natures of the 2 soundtracks in question). Guys, do pitch in with your comments and impressions on the same..

P/S: A review by a fan from India

Watched Transporter 3 this morning before Arsenal v Barcelona ,the film was good! A lot of action!

Though this movie is not as good as first 2 Transporter movie but has acceptable transfer.

PQ: Amazing video! Max High Def

AQ: The Audio is awesome! DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1, is a great audio track for the movie that is loud..

You know... I think BD is totally destroying my cinema experience... Recently I find cinema movie's image quality really horrible... watch till my eye kinda hurt because it doesn't look sharp at all... there's this blur-like image that's constant and the colors seem a bit washed out...
*
I agree with you bro, even the last film i watched in cinema was Avatar [both on 3d and 2d]. The image was fading in and out constantly and color was utter blurry..

Probably you watch BD too much bro, your eyes can't accept non-sharp images / high def.. brows.gif hmm.gif

Each of the top three titles sold approximately half a million copies on Blu-ray, based on total disc sales and BD percentages.

2. The Blind Side
3. Toy Story 2
4. (1) The Twilight Saga: New Moon
5. (2) The Princess and the Frog

So, defect exist everywhere.

By the way, Godfather Collection (UK Version) is region free and same distributor, Paramount as US version.  whistling.gif

Agree with you, defect exist everywhere , most important is we ought to enjoy the movie rather gettin' worried bout the details. I think its a kinda of sickness , even my own blood brother, never prefers UK edition blu-ray's. He's more to anything from US.

All we need is a content of the disc. Probably there could be loads of differences, for me i just think they resemble much in larger volume. whistling.gif

No offence bro maskedchan.. [im speaking in common though]

3. Bollyrobics - Dance Like Bollywood Stars Blu-Ray

I doubt that this will even gets through the Customs. Should i reject the stock or accept it?.

Rating is totally irrelevant in import those movies.  According to my experience, your lucky is main factor that affect your BDs can arrive in your hand or not.  laugh.gif  Sometime, even PG-13 or G rating movies also disappear on the way to you and vice versa.  whistling.gif

Not taking the risk at the moment. Rejected the offer.. thumbup.gif

Guys I am really new in Blu-ray infect just received my first ever blu-ray movie this morning.. thumbup.gif

I need some info on this...
Can I skip the trailers part on the blu-ray and go direct to the movie menu with a push of a button? Spend hours to figure it out finally gave up.  rclxub.gif  On my old DVD player I can just press menu and it goes direct to it... but on the blu-ray I can't. Am I missing something? I am using the JVC XV-BP1 player and the Blu-ray was Star Trek.

Thanks smile.gif

Welcome to the "blu" World.

You can skip the trailers, its just promotional. Just press Top Menu [if there's one] or Menu / Pop Up Menu.

It should direct you to the film Main Menu..

Tried buying the FIFA WORLD CUP 2006 Blu-ray. I wonder if this is Blu-ray or DVD. The image seems to be like a Blu-ray.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/All-Goals-Germany-...70210919&sr=1-5

This is a Blu-ray sold by 3rd party seller. [Not shipped to MYS tho]

Confusing.. rclxub.gif

If you read the review on the first link, the reviewer mentioned that it is indeed blu-ray and not dvd. And although amazon describes it as "all-region", they have been known to be wrong. Suggest you check if it's really region free b4 purchase.
*
I'll double confirm with Amazon UK CS. At least i dont buy DVD instead of Blu-ray.

Thanks for the suggestion..

Just finished watching Tomb Raider.

Movie is great..

PQ is grainy , if it wasn't grainy , it would have been a great transfer.
AQ is ok w DTS 5.1 , would have been great if Dolby TrueHD 5.1 mastered.

Overall, this is for Jolie's fans..
