Hi, I had an older iPhone 2g and it just died on me. I had it for 3 years eversince it first came out and it never gave me any of the problems described by other posters on this site. I used it pretty heavily including thousands of minutes of calling, thousands of texts monthly, used it as my primary source of music, mapping tool, and camera...also since I'm a truck driver, YouTube on my iPhone was my main source of entertainment when I'm out on the road a couple of weeks at a time for the past couple years. It has been my navigation device taking me on a long haul to every state and all the way up to Canada. It has also been my alarm clock. Since I'm always on the road, my iPhone was my link to the world. I used it browse the Internet whenever I needed to look something up, I used the apps to monitor my bank account, eBay, emails, whether, temperature, convert units (like currency convector, weight convertor (pounds to kilos, etc), etc, etc, etc). Basically I have used my iPhone pretty heavily but it never gave me any problems till now. The only thing i haven't done to it is I did not try to jailbreak and/or unlock bcuz I was pretty satisfied with the stock iPhone with ATT.

Now here's the problem. About a month ago after the battery drained out, it shut off and won't turn back on after re-charging. Someone told me to hold both the power and home button down for 10 sec and I tried it and it worked. 3 weeks later, I was on the road when I needed to take a little 2 hour nap so I set the alarm on my phone and went to sleep. When the alarm went off-I tried to shut the alarm off, but the phone went off and it was about 3/4 way charged. It never came back on after that no matter how much I charged it or how long I held down the power n the home button. I plugged it into my PC but it doesn't show in iTunes. Nothing in my computer either.  The only thing that shows is there is a USB connection names apple recovery. Anybody knows how to fix this issue. I just bought the new iPhone 4 but it doesn't feel the same as the original iPhone. The original iPhone Kinna adapts to you like a living thing but this new one just feels like a high tech phone. If anyone knows plz help me, I'd really appreciate it. I also have a bunch of data on my phone that I need. I haven't plugged it into iTunes in over a year so I don't have all my current info backed up. Plz help.
