QUOTE(red-queen @ Mar 31 2010, 12:51 PM) this is how it works on Maxis as well. you pay the total and you clear the installment plan with your credit card company. the good part abt maxis is, you only pay the lump sum of the phone and the first few months bill. whereas digi charges you for the whole contract term. Added on March 31, 2010, 12:53 pm88 IS minimum usage per month. if you exceed then you pay more. which Telco isn't like this? it's the same for Maxis as well. the free goodies in Digi is the internet data. even if you exceed 1GB quota, you won't get charged. whereas maxis will charge u an arm and leg. Huh? i exceed 1GB, won't get charged? then why not just put it as 'unlimited'?

QUOTE(Alviano @ Apr 1 2010, 10:48 PM) I am wondering, is it better if I buy iPhone for RM2500 without contract from Maxis. Then go and take RM58/month 3GB internet with pay whatever you use call/sms rate. Being tied to contracts of 12/24/36 months, I can actually save back RM500 for 12monnths contract (RM1000 for 24months contract) to pay the additional cost to buy non-contracted iPhone. So I will not bound to any excessive charges, and I can change to any better plans offered by other telco. Maximum flexibility rather than tied to the same RATE for 2-3 years. You never know what the price is the next 6 months or 12 months. you can get free data 500MB from Maxis for 12 mths if you use prepaid to buy at retail price. RM 2500. my is youthclub, when i calculate for 2 yrs, actually is same with contract, just that i dun have free SMS each mth.

QUOTE(bluehyppo @ Apr 6 2010, 06:25 PM) Digi iPhones are bound to 24 month contract with them. They show you the RRP for you to compare the price difference for the iPhone unit itself across different iDigi packages. If I am not mistaken, maxis will sell you the "iPhone only" at RRP, but you must be maxis prepaid user / sign up for maxis prepaid. But do note, iPhone without data plan can end up burning a hole in your pocket. but you can get free 500MB data monthly up to 12 mths.
