QUOTE(notmycupoftea @ Jun 23 2011, 02:36 PM) advantages of taking both papers under parmindar: then..is it parmindar would not teaching the exam techniques?no class clash revision class confirm no clash also cheaper free kaplan textbook i think(?) advantages of taking p1 under sheila: learn new things especially exam techniques won't feel bored and tired like "oh see parmindar again" there are no weekend P1 classes free revision kit given by orange orange provided mock test and progress test ksa not providing any test? i am thinking whether to choose sheila or parmindar for p1 also.. XD |

QUOTE(lcyeap90 @ Jun 23 2011, 09:45 PM) then..is it parmindar would not teaching the exam techniques? i am not sure whether dr parmindar will teach exam techniques or not, but i was under him in P3, he didnt really touch on that area.ksa not providing any test? i am thinking whether to choose sheila or parmindar for p1 also.. XD unlike sheila, she really emphasizes a lot on the exam techniques, she even printed a whole list of what "verbs" mean, what does examiner expect from you if he uses certain verbs. misinterpret the verbs will make you write something irrelevant which will not help u to gain marks. ya, ksa not providing any test. it's depending on the lecturer actually. dr parmindar will give homework in normal classes but no progress test or mock test given. the homework is not compulsory to pass up, it's depending on you whether u want to try tat question or not. |

OOO.. actually I saw P3 timetable already on weekend. So no difference if P1 on weekend also. I got take IRC class with sheila last sitting so got all of her exam technique. But I don't know how she conduct her real classes.
Thanks for your help. I will think about it over and over again and then decide. Going to spend money, not cheap. |

QUOTE(neverknowgirl @ Jun 23 2011, 10:16 PM) i will started class in 2 weeks later.. most of the time, the text books are not really relevant since it is so thick and unlikely that you will study the whole thing. therefore, it is better that you study the notes given and practise the revision kit + pass year questions. it should be sufficient to passb4 this when im in CAT im using old books...like in 2009 but nothing change.. i dont know how when im in ACCA... need guide from all senior here |

QUOTE(cutegal0886 @ Jun 24 2011, 10:40 AM) I need you guys give a suggestion... F7 has 5 questions.I'm planning to take F7 Financial Reporting in July 2011 intake. I heard many ppl suggest either 1. Kasturi - Lecturer Joe Fang 2. Kolej Bandar - Lecturer Yap Kok Wah Kindly please give advise for choosing either one. Will going to register by this week. Thanks alot Joe Fang is good for Q1, Q2, and Q3. Q1 is consol. Q2 is PA. Q3 is cashflow and/or ratio analysis. Q4 and Q5 are more to theory based and usually unique. Pros Rote learning that will get you some confidence. Unique techniques that doesn't involve any T-accounts. Speedy exam techniques. Cons Theory and calculation explanations are often vague and inadequate. Examiner might twist the question and thus you will get caught during exam. Doesn't cover the IAS's in detail. Conclusion: You might want to try Joe Fang as a supplement to a core lecturer. I'm looking for recommendations for other lecturers such as Navzar or Keith. Mr Yap Kok Wah: never attended therefore no comment. Hope this helps. |
